What is this?

Polyamory Comics is a series by Sara Valta, that started in Finish, and is now available to read on Webtoons/Tapas and her Patreon. The comics follow her misadventures in Polyamory and self-discovering her Queerness, with the help/hindrance of her partner H-P, and his boyfriend Paju.

With this campaign we're lookin' to raise the money needed to get a collection (volume 1?) of the comics printed, for the first time ever, in English!

The Impact

Books are expensive to make, especially in the current climate of international supply chain issues, and manufacturing shortages. So it's unlikely we're gonna be getting these books made anytime soon without some financial backing.

Also, while the series is autobiographical and funny, it's also got a lot of Polyamory 101 info and terms, and would work as a great introduction for folks who've not really interacted with the topic before. So it'd be cool to get a book make to put in libraries, bookshops and take to conventions.

Risks & Challenges

So Kickstarter and Gumroad wanna eff with NFTs, so despite having experience and some prior success there, none of us; Sara (artist), H-P (co-ordinator) or Harry-Anne (publisher), want to continue our working relationships with them.
In fact, prior to this H-P totally shut down his QueerWebcomic subscription business and back catalogue of works that could be found on Gumroad, in an act to protest.

So shifting the entire project to new platforms from what we originally envisioned has been quite a risk, as we've lost some of our existent userbase.
And with the above mentioned supply chain issues & shortages we're also needing more money than we had originally expected when we started talking about this project a few months back.​
So we're gonna be working hard to share and promote this project, as it could be something of an uphill struggle.

We've also had to factor in fluctuating postal costs so we don't undercharge for delivery, while still keeping it affordable for folks to back at.

Honestly, we totally get it, money is tight right now and the world seems to be on fire.
Several of the team have day jobs to support our comic making dreams.

You can read many strips right now for free, on Webtoons/Tapas/Instagram and even more on Patreon. Although there will be some strips unique to the physical book.
