NEW Portable Painter® MICRO
The original Portable Painter® CLASSIC was launched on Indiegogo in November 2016. Thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of our indiegogo supporters, we reached our goal. As a result, the original Portable Painter® is now a staple part of the art materials world. It’s available at many fine retailers including Blick Art Materials and Amazon, among others.
We have spent much of 2019 developing an entirely new tiny palette, called the Portable Painter® MICRO. It’s credit card size and just one inch thick. Yet it converts in seconds to a fully functional watercolor painting rig.
It features six, standard size half-pans, ready for your favorite colors, plus plenty of mixing wells and a convertible water container, plus a handy T-bar finger grip on the base. It can also hold standard size full pans if desired. Please take a look at our short animation to see all the useful features.
Tooling for this great new MICRO palette is almost complete. We expect to receive pre-production samples soon. Initial supplies will be limited, so if you would like to own one of the World’s first Portable Painter® MICROs, at a significant discount, please choose one of our perks. We anticipate shipping them in February 2020. Your contribution will be a huge help in funding the first full production run.
Kind regards,
Steve Padden

The Original Portable Painter Classic: Campaign Overview
The Portable Painter™ came from my art college roots. Since student days I’ve always carried a small watercolor set and other art supplies with me whenever I traveled. I realized that I could probably design a better watercolor set if I put my mind to it! This began a yearlong effort to identify all the elements I wanted and to combine them in a single, elegant set.
In the design process I discovered a novel way to have the water containers connect securely with the case and form a pedestal base. This even allows the set to balance on a painter’s knee for totally hands-free use: So it has the potential of making open-air painting and urban sketching much simpler.
Around the world, people of all ages observe and paint from life, as tourists or locals. The best of their work is nothing short of spectacular. When I look at the beauty they are creating every day, just for the love of it, it urges me to use the Portable Painter™ to connect with my old art college self: To turn off my devices and turn on my powers of observation. I hope you’ll choose to join me!
Tooling for this great new watercolor palette has already been created. Your support is vital to help me fund a full production run of the Portable Painter™ and start to get it into the hands of as many painters and urban sketchers as possible. In turn, you can own one of the World’s first Portable Painters with my gratitude!
Thank you for your enthusiasm about the Portable Painter, your generosity in supporting the campaign and the trust you placed in me to deliver. I believe that you will be delighted by the result!
Kind regards,
