WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
"Post Love" is an upcoming Irish comedy short film that is currently being made by students at the National Film School in Dublin. We are looking for donations for the film's production. Any donation big or small will be greatly appreciated and every cent will go towards the production of the film. We want to give back to our backers so we have a list of perks available.
Please read more about the project below and see why this project means so much to us:
FILM SYNOPSIS
Why stare at cows in rural Ireland when you could be drinking cocktails in Lanzarote? This dream could soon become a reality for Cathy, Pauline, and Roisin who have just escaped from their nursing home. But this lavish lifestyle is designed for the rich, not three elderly women living off the state. Therefore Pauline creates a “Get rich quick” scheme that involves robbing local post offices. Although money can buy you almost everything, it can’t, unfortunately, buy Cathy Love. Amongst the chaos, we follow Cathy’s search for love as this is the final opportunity she has to find "the one". Could this put Pauline’s plan at risk?

Ryan was the most crucial person in the early stages of the film. Alongside Max, he was able to craft the story of "Post Love" for the big screen. He is currently a screenwriting Major in the National Film School and is minoring in directing fiction film. Ryan and Max went through over 10 drafts of the film to get it to where it is today. THE ART TEAM
From Left: Eveyln Hassett, Sally Kinsella, Jocelyn Hannon, Grace McClair
Art Director: Eveyln Hassett
Evelyn has worked tirelessly to bring the film to life since she came on board back in December. She has built a post office from scratch, turned a Wicklow school community hall into a 1950's school dance and she crafted a fake bomb out of an oxygen tank. Aside from that, she has made sure the film has a distinct artistic style and has made sure all of the other art departments have followed her vision for the film.
Costume Designer: Sally Kinsella
Sally has brought the characters to life with her quirky costume designs. She also was able to create and source costumes to dress over 50 extras in an 1950s school dance scene. She brought a very distinct look to the characters and crafted beautiful costumes.
Makeup Artist: Grace McClair
Grace worked closely with Jocelyn to bring an over the top feel to the film. Through the make up she was able to make each character have their own unique style. She put a lot of thought into the colour pallet of all the characters so that it all related closely back to the overall design of the film.
BARRA O'CONNOR - Editor
Barra is currently an editing Major at the National Film School IADT. At the moment he is working closely with Max to put the film together. He has worked on many productions, both in college and out, including documentaries and fiction films. He is passionate about finding the story within the edit.
JOHN COONEY- Sound Designer
John is currently a major in screenwriting at the National Film School. He is also minoring in sound design so came on board the project to bring the film to life aurally. He is a very talented designer who has worked closely with Keen Murphy to make sure the film has a rich sound design. He was on set to capture the audio and is about to start post sound on the project.
THE CAST AND CREW
We cannot thank each and every single person who helped bring the project to where it is today. Without the generosity of cast, crew, locals and business owners around the Wicklow area this film could not have been possible. We had an amazing cast and crew of just under 100 people bring this project together so far and we are excited to have YOU help with the process!
We need YOUR help
Although the film is shot already, there are still various things we need to pay for. We are asking for funding for:
-
Final Scene Recording - One more scene still needs to be filmed so we need to cover actors, catering and general expenses of running a set
-
Distribution - So the film can be entered into local and international film festivals and our lovely grannies can be seen up on the big screen.
-
Score- Every good comedy needs a good score. We are looking to find a professional composer who will create a beautiful and comedic score for the film.
