"Pria" (Man or Gentleman in Indonesian) is the story of a young LGBT teen growing up in rural Indonesia who finds himself stuck
in between the traditions of his upbringing and his romantic idealization of the freedom of the
West.
This film is incredibly important to us not only because of our love (really, this is no exaggeration) of filmmaking, but for our
passion to provide voices to stories and communities that are underrepresented.
There are currently no "LGBT themed" films set in rural Indonesia, a nation where same sex marriage is still not legal (or rather, not even part of the vernacular) and homosexuality is still very taboo (if not illegal).
We hope to bring a
story as special as "Pria" to life and shared around the world with your help.
