The Booth Project
Killing a president. Fracturing a nation. Satiating an ego. Destroying a brother. Listening to voices. Following a cause. For one hundred and forty seven years, John Wilkes Booth left unanswered questions that Quarry Theatre will mine in THE BOOTH PROJECT.
Set in Greenmount Cemetery, the audience will witness a search for the unmarked grave of John Wilkes Booth and be taken on an abstract ride into the mind of a killer.
WHAT IS QUARRY THEATRE?
quarry (v.) to obtain something diligently and laboriously; to excavate
Quarry Theatre is interested in examining the past through the lens of devised theatre: a form of theatre that is completely original, often non-linear and includes movement, sound, found text, sound and multi-media. The goal is to quarry the great WHY questions of the human experience.
WHY WE NEED YOU?
The Booth Project started as a workshop idea last summer at Harford Community College in Maryland. It was a huge success and we want to re-work the piece for the Baltimore Theatre Project. in order to do that, we need your help! Our costs include space rental, lighting/projection support, costumes and set pieces. Any help you could provide would be most appreciated!!!
Thank you!!
