Rainy Day Records is a music production company and independent record label that is a subsidiary of Sound City Entertainment Group, the parent company of the legendary Sound City recording studios, located in Los Angeles.

Sound City celebrated its 40th Anniversary in the recording business in 2009. More than 100 Gold and Platinum albums have been recorded at Sound City during the past 42 years.  However, in 2011, the owner of Sound City, Tom Skeeter, retired, and Sound City Studios was closed.  The legendary Neve 8028 Recording Console was sold to Dave Grohl, who moved the console to his own recording studio, Studio 606, located nearby, in the San Fernando Valley.  Therefore, Rainy Day Records no longer has access to Sound City Studios for its own recording projects.

Rainy Day Records is continuing the Sound City legacy by developing the brightest young musical talent in America, while concentrating on the same types of music that has made Sound City one of the most famous recording studios in the world. Rainy Day is currently developing new artists in the musical genres of Rock, Pop, Alternative, Rhythm & Blues, Soul, and certain types of Roots and Country music.

Rainy Day usually only signs two or three new artists or acts in any given year, and then makes a concerted effort to fully develop and promote those artists that we do sign. Also, Rainy Day Records only uses experienced record producers who have produced or engineered at least one Gold or Platinum album in the production of our albums.

In order for Rainy Day Records to continue as a music production company and independent record label, we have helped to develop a new recording studio, located in Hermosa Beach, California.  This studio will now serve as the Rainy Day Records Project Studio, and will mainly be used by the company for most of our future recording projects. 

Some of the money raised by this campaign will be used to further equip the studio with some of the best microphones available.  However, we will utilize the majority of the campaign funds for the completion of a couple of recording projects that we currently have in development, which will be announced this summer.  And, as a member of the Rainy Day Records Team, you will be notified about these projects in advance of their release.
