  • Jed, here. Salt has been my labor of love for a long time. The film has funny and quick-talking dialogue, and says a lot about how relationships evolve and crumble when secrets unearth. The characters mirror portions of my personality, and I'm looking forward to creating a film I believe will resonate for a long time with those I love and the fans Canted Angle Media has built.
  • My love for DC Comics is incredibly present throughout the script, as well! With references from The Dark Knight Returns comic to the Batman v. Superman movie, you'll surely catch yourself finding references to DC lore throughout the film! Please, join me on the journey in creating this amazing film!
• The magnitude of this project!
  • Every film CAM sets out to create, we push ourselves further into the film culture by adapting new ways of storytelling, film techniques, and writing styles! This year has seen us shooting a Western and a psychological horror film!
  • Salt will be our action-comedy in the vein of classics like Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs! We can only hope to hold the candle that could be lit with the flames of Quentin Tarantino's amazing storytelling capabilities! And, you can be a huge part of getting this movie made!

  • We have three needs:
    • Location payments and allocation (Scoring the perfect diner for our film!)
    • Crew Management (gasoline for crew members/actors, travel expenses)
    • Catering (I've heard whispers the crew wants tacos and bbq!)

The Impact

• Canted Angle Media wants to open up the Midwest to a realm of amazing and talented actors and production crew from the Springfield, Little Rock, & Branson areas! Building Salt with a small budget will help us take these necessary steps to showcase our work to production and distro companies (like Dust and Blumhouse) and help build the foundation for a future full of bright stars and big ideas!
• CAM shot a film titled "Sun" in March using Indiegogo, which helped us purchase food, gasoline, and camera equipment! It also helped us begin shopping Sun to film festivals across the nation! Indiegogo is a necessary and important part of our process!
• With the help of your donation, Canted Angle Media stands to build dynamite performances from Salt's regional cast, and showcase businesses across the area through the captivating form of film!
• We'd love your support, and ask graciously for a contribution from our friends, loved ones, and fans we've been building this year through our partnership with Deezofest (Deezo Film Fest, May 2018, Harrison, Ar.), Lyric Theater ("The Annex" - short film, July 2018), and Big Post Productions ("Sun" - short film, March 2018).

The Actors

• Raymond Roberson (Neil)
  • Ray Roberson is a St. Louis native and a frequent CAM collaborator, having starred in "Sun" in March of 2018! Ray's a Superman fanatic and brings a lot of charisma and personality to the screen! Ray will bring the calculated, obsessive "Neil" to life in Salt!
• Arthur Donovan Davis (Dave)
  • Arthur is a director, actor, and writer from Springfield, Mo! He frequently shoots short films under EyeScope Films! Arthur's collected demeanor will be fully present as stoner and conniver "Dave"!
• Jonova Lavon (Lana)
  • A full-time actor, Springfield native Jonova Lavon will be working with CAM for the first time! Jonova is the perfect actor to assume the role of "Lana", an analytical woman with her own agenda!
• Mickey Stone (Minerva)
  • Mickey has a tremendous personality that shines in front of a camera! He has recently worked with CAM in both "Sun" and "The Annex", and continues his relationship as the mysterious waiter, Minerva.

Risks & Challenges

• With many beautiful diner/cafe locations across the region, our biggest hurdle is paying for access to a filming location that fits the aesthetic of a cafe/diner. Our largest purchase will be to rent the perfect location for four days to shoot Salt.
• The second largest purchase we will make is gasoline and automotive maintenance on crew vehicles. We do not have company vehicles yet, and all of our crew carpools or drives themselves to set. Jed would like to be able to pay for their gasoline and any unforeseen automotive repairs that might arise during travel to the filming location.
