Tent trailers that were sizeable enough to accommodate a couple were just too heavy, too bulky and didn’t have any style. What was available required some set-up time that can sometimes be inconvenient. The end result of these choices were functional but not representative of the ultimate freedom that we were in search of.

Necessity being the mother of invention, we put our creative ideas to work in metal, composites, a little advanced mechanical technology and knowledge of ultralight aircraft and ultimately, ScarabRV was born as a very low weight, low drag, low center of gravity, low profile feature packed tent trailer.

 Now our travels combine all the conveniences we could ask for; an ultralight towable recreational vehicle that we can pull behind our cruising motorcycle or attach to the back of virtually any sub-compact car with little indication of anything being in tow.

The independent suspension, the extremely low weight and the finely tuned low center of gravity make the ScarabRV a pleasure to take along. The storage compartments provide plentiful capacity for sleeping bags, fishing gear, cook stoves and other conveniences. The front storage compartment is easily accessible for storage of drinks, weather gear and other items that you might want quick access to. Your tent automatically opens and closes at the touch of a remote button. Within 60 seconds, the wings open and the tent inflates, ready to shelter you from the elements. If you’ve ever been out on the plains on a late afternoon, or in a big sky country you know the value of finding quick shelter.

ScarabRV also features an onboard air compressor for an air mattress or water toys, as well as a 12 volt outlet for charging devices or to plug in a cold box.
