NORTH AMERICA vs. EUROPE, ROUND 2! Help fundraise to send a North American team to the Multiplay Insomnia 49 gaming festival in the UK!
Last year, at Multiplay's i46 in Telford, UK, the worldwide competitive Team Fortress 2 community came together and sent two North American teams in an unprecedented fight to see who could proclaim themselves as champions of the world. This time, we want to send one North American team to i49, with your help.
We are TeamFortress.TV, the hub for all things Team Fortress 2. Currently, we are the biggest host for everything related to the competitive side of Team Fortress 2. TeamFortress.TV came about as a modernization and new face of the Team Fortress 2 community after the dissolution of GotFrag and NATF2. It has grown immensely in popularity and continues to do so.
By contributing to this fundraiser, you are helping make history not only in competitive Team Fortress 2, but also eSports as it continues to grow in popularity. i46 proved to bring together the worldwide community and we expect no less out of i49, as the bar of competition has raised significantly.

How will the North American team be chosen?
As of now, there are four teams that are in for the running, based on the current highest level of North American competitive Team Fortress 2 (ESEA, Invite division). A list of the teams can be seen at this link. On the weekend of April 20th in Dallas, Texas, the finals for this season of ESEA Invite will take place, and the first place winner will be granted preference to the funds from this fundraiser. Those teams are (in reverse order of seed):
- Fully Torqued
- The Chess Club
- Classic Mixup
- High Rollers Gaming/bp
All teams and their respective captains are fully aware of this fundraiser and the possibility of attending i49.
Goal Breakdown
Right now, we are asking for 10,800, which is the bare minimum to send one North American team at the moment; this is broken down in this way:
Flights: 6 Players * $1400 = $8400
Lodging (4 nights): 6 Players * $150 = $900
Computer Rental: 6 Players * $115 = $690
Indiegogo/PayPal Fees (7%) = ~$750
Any surplus funds and/or reductions on these estimates above will go towards improved onsite coverage of i49 (staff and equipment), and any remainder after that will go to the prize pool of i49. Details about these costs will be forthcoming as they are finalized.

$100 - MASTER - Receive one-on-one mentoring from a player of the i49 North American team for 30 minutes!
$125 - ABSOLUTE ALTRUIST - This is the ARTICLE ACE, FORUM FORAGER, DEADLY DERRINGER, and MASTER perks all into one, at a combo deal price.
$200 - MASTERMIND - Receive one-on-one mentoring from a player of the i49 North American team for an hour!
$225 - BEST BENEFACTOR - This is the ARTICLE ACE, FORUM FORAGER, DEADLY DERRINGER, and MASTERMIND perks all into one, at a combo deal amount.
Why should I donate?
Last year, for i46, the community was able to raise $21,000 to send two teams; the community's generosity and desire for elevation of competitive Team Fortress 2 gives us great confidence in the success of a smaller scoped, but more focused fundraiser. Your contribution is a stepping stone for writing a chapter not only in competitive Team Fortress 2, but also that of eSports. This is an extremely rare event that two teams so far away are able to compete on stage, and, by donating, you would be a part of that history.
