Our Mission
Seoul, U.S.A. is a screenplay guaranteed to encourage the lives of independent young women between the ages of 13-25 across the globe.
Studies show that there is a need in movies and the media to portray women as leading and empowering characters. Seoul, U.S.A. is a movie that helps fill that void. A film about two women from diverse communities in the inner city who take on a male-dominated Martial Art form and win, Seoul, U.S.A. is testimony that Tae Kwon Do builds confidence and self-esteem. As the writer of the screenplay, survivor of growing up in the dangers of the inner city and Tae Kwon Do practitioner myself, I am proof positive images have an impact. Having interviewed Olympic Gold Medalists Lynnette Love and Arlene Limas, their individual triumphs have inspired me to overcome my own insecurities. Bringing their stories to the world by way of film will help many young women like myself take steps to living their best confident selves!
Recently The Korean Film Commission has granted us permission to conduct a location scout IN OCTOBER, 2012 (For when we film the FEATURE) in Seoul, Korea. SEE GALLERY FOR KOREA's SUPPORT LETTER. In addition while we are there, we are hoping with your help to attend the Busan Film Festival to solicit major investors. My letter of participations reads:
