The Shiksas
One night at a pub in the West Village, we realized we shared an attraction to men of the Chosen persuasion. To share our love with the world, we wrote this series together. Thanks to the wonderful community at The Indies Lab for workshopping the series with us!
Alexandra Bailey (Co-Writer, Maddie) I'm a New York based actress and writer. I recently appeared in Never Sleep Alone at Joe's Pub, Travis at Ars Nova, and the film, The Big Scoop. I have a BFA in Drama from NYU Tisch, and I've studied at Stella Adler, Stone Street, and The Tisch Dublin Playwriting Program. My play, The Things She Puts In My Hands received a reading at Trinity College. My spirit animal is Betty White.
Karen Bacellar (Co-Writer, Director) I am a writer/director based in New York. Two of my short films, Act Like Me and Evelyn Victorious are on the festival circuit. I hold an MA in Film Studies from University College London and a BFA in Film & TV Production from NYU Tisch. While I don't have spirit animal, I like to imagine myself as the reincarnation of Vivien Leigh...but only on Sundays.
Our Awesome Cast/Crew (so far)
Fintan O'Neill (Father Connor)
Ari Blau (Abe) I am an NYU graduate and a comedian working every day to live the dream. I grew up in Cape May, NJ. In college I worked closely with the production crews at Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. When I'm not performing stand-up comedy, you can find me filming original comedy sketches and social experiments. I started a YouTube channel in 2008, and branded the channel with my best friend Chris Albright. We go by the name, Blau-Bright Productions. Some of our recent social experiments were picked up and aired on the TV shows, Right This Minute and Bloopers. My motto in life is: "Don't talk about it. Be about it."
Ran Shelomi (Cinematographer) I am a writer and cinematographer based in New York. My previous work includes shooting the web series Sun & The Art of Dating, cinematography for the upcoming short film Weed, and numerous assistant camera jobs. I've worked with several cameras, including: the Canon C300, Sony FS700, Canon 7D, Sony EX-1, Panavision Genesis, and the Sony F35. In my spare time, I can often be found tinkering in my tool shed on a machine that will put that damn Jupiter back in its place.
