Burner Fammmmmmmily!!!
Yeah we know that you are Pumped to return to the dust after 2 years of playing burning man in each of your own neighborhoods on your light up bikes and art projects in your backyard (or was that just us putting on outfits and boomboxes causing all the neighbors to peruse yet crack smiles at our unconventional ways of exercising and investing our quarantine time)
You know the drill this is a fundraiser, if you're ready to push donate, head to the bottom of this page and get your blessin' on. If you want the juicy, ooey, gooey deets of this art creation Read on.... and then smash that donate button at the end :)
It is my great honor to have been chosen as one of the 2022 honorarium art pieces. I have spent the last two years constructing how I will enhance the Shrine of Macabre to be an entertaining yet safe haven for those that need to purge from the great purge.
It's quite synchronistic that this piece represents a physical image of a house but with a deeper meaning of the cycle of birth, life, and death or otherwise stated positive, negative and neutral — thus embodying survivorship.
In the outer approach by foot or bike you'll notice she's gorgeous; A gothic steel structure with cut-out flames that lay artistic shadow silhouettes in the daytime and warming colorful light pools in the nighttime. Picture worthy and fun to dance around I might add.
The inside welcomes you to take a well deserved deep playa seat and ruminate at the hand picked art. The 1000+ hours of innovation and functional design created by burners for burners. Pretty excited about the addition of calliope fire effects, a stage for dancing, lyra, mingling, and fire performances that needs to be built.
This year the Shrine of Macabre will boast a footprint of 25 feet tall by 25 feet wide. It is meant to encourage participants to venture within to relish in the fortitude of what embodies the will to survive from birth through death.
I look to you, comm-unity, to contribute because your dollars fuel my passion to bring my beating heart of art to the participants of burning man Waking Dreams 2022.
I miss you
we miss you
we celebrate returning to the dust
