The Story
A black ops military operation creates human animal hybrids with the help of E.T.s on the Colorado-New Mexico Border. Intelligent hybrid fox 'Smokes' escapes, putting the top secret program in jeopardy. Should the truth come out, it will plunge the world into chaos. Until then, Smokes is having the time of his life.
How Did Smokes Come About?
Back in the early 90's I was a young teen inspired by the indie comics scene. Some of my favorite titles were Madman, Cerebus, Concrete, and Bone to name a few. Growing up Valiant and Image comics were a necessity. These creators got me excited about the comic book world, so much in fact I would scribble my own IP designs. The idea of the dope-smoking fox was born during one of those drawing sessions and it's been my dream to make it a reality. The character has always been on my mind throughout the years. In late 2018 I enlisted Mike Baron and Gerhard to help me bring Smokes to life and the rest is history.

The Creative Team
Mike Baron
Two-time Eisner Award and Inkpot Award winning writer, the man behind Nexus and The Badger. A living legend best known for his five year run on The Punisher, Frank Castle's first ongoing series. Other notable works include DC's The Flash as well as Star Wars titles for Dark Horse Comics. Mike also scripted some of Valiant's most popular characters including Turok Dinosaur Hunter, Magnus Robot Fighter, and Archer & Armstrong.
Lee Oaks
Freelance illustrator and creator of Thunder Monkey. Lee worked on The Badger for Devils Due/First Comics and Night of the Vegan published by Outland Entertainment. He also worked with Mike Baron on Hi-Roller for Popeyes, a prize included in their kids meal.
Barry McClain Jr.
Rising comic artist and horror enthusiast. Co-creator of Q-Ball with Mike Baron and Billy the Kit with Justin Gray which was recently published by Blue Juice Comics.
Rodney Ramos
Veteran inker as well as finisher for Marvel, DC, and Valiant. He worked on multiple Batman titles, Punisher War Journal, Punisher War Zone, Transmetropolitan, and Ninjak, just to name a few.
DC Alonso
Colorist for IDW's Star Trek, he also worked on The Expendables go to Hell graphic novel created by Sylvester Stallone with acclaimed writer Chuck Dixon, Graham Nolan, and Richard C. Meyer.
Kurt Hathaway
In the 90's Kurt was the letterer on Rob Liefeld's Youngblood and editor at Image Comics. He has since gone onto work for all the major publishers with over 30 years experience.
Justin Belmont
Creator of Smokes the Fox and Weaponized Werewolf, Belmont Press founder and editor-in-chief. He was born on Stan Lee's birthday, destined to be a part of the comic book industry.
