Thank you all for coming to the Indiegogo page! Take a look on the right and choose your pledge/reward perk. Your pledge will enable Space Knight Book 5 to be available on my store in ebook, audiobook, and possibly print. Thank you for pledging!
Stretch goal #1 is $30,000. If we hit that in funding, I’ll make sure Space Knight Book 5 is 100,000 words instead of the usual 80,000.
Stretch Goal #2 is $60,000. If we hit that funding, I’ll be able to do a mass market print run of the Space Knight books, and unsigned versions will be available in my store for fans to purchase. If that goal is not hit, there will not be print books available for sale outside of these crowdsourcing events.
Ebooks, audiobooks, and other digital goodies (art and behind the scenes video) will be delivered by the end of January, print books and morale patch by the end of March.
Pledgers will get advanced copies of the ebook, audio, and (if they pledge that tier) print books FOUR WEEKS before they are released to the public on my website, so if you want early access of the Space Knight story, this is the best way to get it!
New for this crowdfunding campaign is the morale patch. Here is the initial design:
Hi,
I’m Michael-Scott Earle, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of fiction with 43 full-length and 4 short novels published. I write books for men, but not just any books. These are high octane and high dopamine fantasy and sci-fi stories about bad ass protaganists killing asshole villians and having sex with plenty of beautiful women. If you are a dude between the ages of 16 and 99 and you are looking for books/entertainment that will make you feel like a hero, then you’ve just discovered your favorite author.
My Space Knight novels are some of my best selling books. Space Knight is a story about a young man named Nicholas Lyons on his quest to become first a squire and then a knight in a fantastic sci-fi/fantasy world where Knights obtain better gear and currency by killing dragon-men-monsters named “Grendals” that emerge from portals on various planets in the galaxy. It’s a bit like Harry Potter, only the protaganist isn’t a third wheel, the books aren’t for kids, and lots of violence, beer drinking, and sex happens. Okay… so it’s not at all like Harry Potter. Maybe it’s a bit more like Warhammer 40k, only there is romance, comedy, every other paragraph isn’t about heresy, and the characters get more loot so they get more powerful. Okay… so it’s not at all like Warhammer 40k, either.
Space Knight is rather unique. It’s what is considered a “LitRPG” book, where the protagonist gets loot with stats that makes him more powerful. He also “levels” up from a lowly “Squire” into a full “Knight” class and is currently in the process of choosing a specialization.
Space Knight is also considered a “Harem” novel series, where the protagonist is romantically involved and sleeps with with more than one beautiful woman who are all okay with the situation because he's so awesome.
You will have a fantastic time reading this book, but don’t just take my word for it, you can download the first Space Knight novel on my website for free right now. Then you can read it on your Kindle/ebook reader/phone. If you prefer to listen to your books in the car or while you are working, you can also download the audiobook for free here.
Q: Wait. Did you just write that you do books for men? With awesome adventure, badass male protagonists, and beautiful women (like more than one?) that he sleeps with? Ummm. Are you allowed to do that? Isn’t it almost 2020?
A: I understand your confusion. You probably have one eyebrow raised. Maybe you are even looking over your shoulder to make sure you don’t get caught even reading this. Rejoice brother, in a world filled with entertainment for just women, you’ve found an author that just focuses on fun stories for men. But believe me, A LOT of people don’t like that I’m writing these awesome books. You’ll love them, though.
Q: I don’t read books, how can I get in on this awesome Space Knight loot grabbing, beer drinking, maiden banging action?
A: I’ve got some audio books! You can get the first one here on Bandcamp for free and, if you like it, you can get books 2-4 on my website in the next few weeks. Even if you don’t read, you still might want to try the ebook of Space Knight Book 1 for free. You can get it on your smartphone and spend a few minutes here and there reading it instead of surfing Facebook or playing games on your phone when you have downtime. I’ve had hundreds of readers tell me that they haven’t read a book since high school, but they got hooked on my books, read them all, and now really enjoy reading. I write super-fun action-packed books that are easy and enjoyable to read.
Q: I don’t see an option to buy all the ebooks at once. Why not?
A: Because I don’t want to take your money without giving you value in return. Look, if I had an option for you to pledge for all five Space Knight ebooks, you’d get them all when the Indiegogo was done, but chances are, you’d probably forget to ever read them or have something else come up between when you pledged and when the Indiegogo ended. That just doesn’t work for me, and it shouldn’t work for you. I want fans for life, so if any of the stuff you’ve read so far gets you excited, just try my first book for free. Then you can devour the other four books in the series, come back here, and pledge for book 5. I think that’s fair to both of us. *Insert virtual fistbump*
Q: How do I know you are going to even finish the book?
A: I started publishing in December of 2015. Since then, I’ve written and published 47 novels. Most of my books are around 80,000 thousand words (Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is 77,000 words for comparison). My writing isn’t upper class literary masturbation. I write pulp fantasy fun stories with an easy to read conversational language style. I normally write 8,000 to 10,000 words a day, and often finish a book in a week or two. I’ll start this novel as soon as the goal is met, and I’ll probably have it finished before the Indiegogo ends. Getting the morale patch and print books will probably take a bit longer, but it should all be delivered before March is over.
But that question is a great segue into…
This is my first Indiegogo, but I’ve done a Kickstarter that was wildly successful. The deliverables aren’t very challenging. These are the rewards I am promising:
Getting the book written by the deadline.
I’m a full time author who has written and published more books than 99.9% of other authors. This will not be an issue.
Getting the audio book recorded.
The slot is already booked with the narrators, and the money has already been paid. They are recording the first 4 books right now, and we should be ready for book 5 as soon as I finish it.
Getting the cover art reward.
It’s already completed. You can see it up above.
Making the Behind the Scenes video.
Easy peasy. I just turn on my camera and start yapping about the book. It will probably be hard for me to stop talking in a reasonable amount of time. I just love going on and on about knights, loot, game mechanics, etc...
Shipping out the Morale Patch.
The design is pretty much done, I just need to have it made and shipped to my warehouse. They have told us it's a 6 week lead time, so it should be to you by end of March.
Shipping out the books.
My previous Kickstarter taught me about printing fulfillment. It take about as long as the morale patch, so you should get it by the end of March.
