The Story
We'll go along for the ride as Hanna commandeers her roommate's video equipment to document the journey of "Charlie", a rare Chan MegaStick, as she chauffeurs him to a remote research facility in the Oregon wilderness. But she'll arrive to find the place empty and it's not long before something "unnatural" rears its ugly head. Miles from civilization, no phone signal, and her hatchback squished - a direct result of the unnatural thing with the ugly head - she'll discover she's at ground zero of an experiment gone terribly wrong and must rely on her budding bug skills to thwart off a giant mutant insect invasion that threatens to wipe out all humanity.
Fear is a powerful motivator. And while it's usually the saboteur of goals, dreams, and all that could be great in the world, on rare occasions it saves our butts. So, to frighten you into rethinking this genetic engineering stuff, we are making STICK.
My Story
![]()
I was cured of the sickness while living in a car at an Indianapolis truck stop for two years; that bug planted in my youth that I would never be happy or respected if I wasn't rich. Prior to that I spent 20 years building a company in Detroit, until someone even more sick then me stole it. Once I was cured I was free to follow my passion as a screenwriter. One of my specs caught the interest of Zero Gravity Management who got me repped by Paradigm Talent Agency. Now I aspire to be a filmmaker.
I started Lloyd Pictures to create a slate of fun, relevant stories that explore potential/inevitable outcomes. Whether it's trying to control nature by hacking God's programming, or expecting people to roll over and die so the one percent can extravagate (second slated film), there's usually a hefty price to pay for recklessness. I sincerely hope to earn your trust as a fan, collaborator, and instigator.
SARA MURPHY (Hanna) is a bright, rising star from L.A. and you'll love her to pieces - we're not implying she'll be ripped to pieces - only that you will like her a lot!
What We Need & What You Get
We're raising $10k for STICK. Most of the expensive stuff is being done in-house at Lloyd Pictures Micro Studio, like Cinematography, Editing, Coloring, Sound Design, etc., but there's some things we need help with:
- We need to pay Hanna!
- We need to hire a professional field sound guy.
- We need to hire a lighting guy.
- We need to rent the research facility.
- We need to pay for cool music.
- We need to pay for more data storage.
- We need to pay for props. Giant Sticks are not cheap!
- We need to budget for online conversion based marketing to build a viable project.
We've put together some cool perks, but here's the one I would want for my 25 bucks...
- BEHIND THE SCENES MAKING OF STICK! Videos and photos of our modern movie making process. Plus you'll get regular updates and a social media THANKS!
If we don't meet our goal, we're moving ahead with what we got.
Risks, Challenges & Impact
Our goal is to make an entertaining film on a super tight budget. We're running our production company like any other business; if it can't pay for itself it doesn't deserve to exist... However, we have a learning curve to overcome and that will be part of what we share with YOU!
Our biggest obstacle is probably Oregon spiders!
Be a part of the growing voice of common sense and compassion in the world by supporting modern filmmakers with a message, even if that message exploits our beloved walking sticks!
I look forward to sharing our film journey with you!
Other Ways You Can Help
Give a shout out to all your creepy crawlies and use the Indiegogo share tools to spread the word!
SPECIAL REQUEST!
Okay, so Hanna films herself throughout the movie and at one point she accidentally goes over this 200' waterfall...

Now, we discussed this with Sara, the actress, and she would prefer not to jump off a cliff. So we're asking for your comments on how to best shoot this scene. We're thinking waterproof iPhone, parachutes, etc. If you think this will work let us know with your COMMENTS. If you have a better idea or are aware of other considerations and precautions we should take before tossing equipment over the ledge, please let us know! Your suggestions are much appreciated!
