After the Flood is finally going to the
recording studio! And you can help us get there.
Who are we?
Original ATF members John Linn, Laura
Ettabbakh and Alys Willman started singing together at Saint Stephens and the
Incarnation Church back in 2010, trying to add more soul to the weekly church
music. People started responding to the unique blend of voices – John’s sweet
tenor, Alys’ soaring soprano, and Laura’s ability to lay harmony right
down the middle.
After a while, we started getting
requests to play birthday parties and weddings, and before we knew it, we were
gigging at street festivals, local bars and coffee shops. In 2015 percussionist
Zack Gleiberman brought in the rhythm. When cellist Maxfield Wollam-Fisher and bassist Matt Wharton joined in 2016, we were bringing down the house
sounding like a real band.
Why support our musical collaboration?
Our music walks the line between the
sacred and the secular. We cover some tunes, and John Linn writes originals
that might break your heart. We pick songs that speak to the core of the human
experience. You won’t hear any poppy stuff about romantic love or other gush on
this album. We sing about age-old themes like death and loss, justice, and the
deep joy that comes from knowing that we are all together on this crazy, brutal,
beautiful journey we call life.
We’re making this album for our
community, and that means you! This is our chance to share the incredible magic
that happens when we play together with the ever-wider circle of people who
connect with our music.
