Supraball is a First-Person Sports Game. It feels like playing football without being football. There are no CPU-assisted characters in the game - Every player is human, and a team is only successful if everyone is working together. Supraball is the official successor to Deathball.

We aren't gonna lie. We're developing the game either way, because we love it too much. But almost all of us are doing it in our free time. A successfull crowdfunding would allow us to increase the production speed by about 500% and have it done much earlier. It would also raise the production quality by far.
Without funding it would just take a long time to get it done.
And apart from time constraints, certain key development positions, like the one of a qualified 3D artist, are hinged on further financial support.
But why now?
You can already play Supraball on our website and it feels like an almost finished game, right?
The thing is, we are currently porting the game from Unreal Engine 3 to Unreal Engine 4 because the old engine is very limiting to us and doesn't allow us to do many things. So we are basically redoing the whole game to get it running on a future-proof technology.
It will take a lot of time to get the game on par with the features existing in the current Unreal Engine 3 version of the game. We’re starting from scratch again, but the goal is to produce a game that will leave nothing to be desired.
Why a new Engine?
The main problem with the current engine (UE3) is, that it doesn't provide us with source code access. So we pretty much have to work with what's there. This means that there are things we can't do or can't fix. Here’s a short list:
- We can't properly use Steam because the engine's support is incomplete.
- We can't release the game for platforms other than Windows.
- On the current engine, every idle server is producing a way too high CPU usage which makes it resource intensive for game server hosting companies to offer this game.
- There are lots of intricacies that we can’t control with an old engine. For
instance, we can’t make the ball spin fast enough because the engine’s rotation
speed limit is just too tight.

The developers of the old engine have phased out support for it, which means we
can’t fall back on it and fix things when they go wrong at your end.
The new Unreal Engine 4 gives us source code access, so we can literally do anything we want with it and also release the game for any platform that we like, so we can add support for Linux and Mac. On top of that, the new engine looks prettier, doesn't compromise on performance, and it's a lot easier to work with. The technical support of the engine is superb and in full swing.
