We bet you're asking yourselves: What is Sweethearts?
Sweethearts is a horror genre film in the vein of The Craft, Jawbreakers, Heathers and more but far far darker and gorier. In the words of co-producer Nicholas Brendon, "... it's like John Hughes meets Tarantino. I can't tell you how much I love this movie."
In the world of teenage hierarchy, we follow a group of antiheroes in the form of cheerleaders as they make their way through the war that is High School. Ever thought there must be a secret to being charming, popular, athletic and beautiful? What if the secret involved being inducted into a secret society that worshiped Satan? This is the world of Sweethearts.
First of all, I'm Ama Lea. I'm the Writer and Director of Sweethearts but you may know me as the photographer of The Bloody Best Project or from the pages of Fangoria. I've worked in horror as a photographer and director for six years.
Next, we have Jade Fassbinder and Andrea Albin (Bloody Bombshell Entertainment), two kick-ass Producers who've worked in television, film and other areas of horror.
We have a killer (pun totally intended) Cinematographer named Diego Madrigal, who has shot all of my films and has worked with almost every major studio, network and director in Hollywood in one facet or another. He is crucial to making my vision a reality.
Of course, we have our leading ladies: Colette Stone, Misha Reeves, Elissa Wagner, Briana Caitlin, Makaila Nichols and Emma Julia Jacobs.

We need to get at least $100,000 to make this movie be everything it deserves to be. Shooting a high school horror movie is NOT cheap. Renting a high school costs more than a new car!

...You get the point.
For your contributions you'll be rewarded with some awesome perks including but not limited to: DVDs, Posters, Signed Photos, Signed (and Bloody) Cheerleader Uniforms from the Teaser, Some Nicholas Brendon Love, Producer Credits or YOU could even be IN Sweethearts!
When you contribute and be a part of our film, you're not only helping create a rad movie, but you're helping support women in the film industry! 80% of the people involved in Sweethearts are in fact, women. Almost all department heads are women and this film is written and directed by yes, you guessed it, a woman. In our opinion, this is a very awesome thing.
In addition:
The challenges to making any indie film are very real. Running out of money, running out of time, running out of blood... it all happens. We still do it though, because we love it!
As a director and a photographer, I have a vast amount of experience behind the camera and solving any and all of these problems. I am confident in my skills and my crew that we will go to any lengths to create a fantastic film.
Remember, EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS! No, we really mean it. Can't afford to donate a heap of money? No worries! $1 gets us a step closer to our goal. As Elissa states in our video, that's the cost of the taco.
If you can't afford to contribute we totally get that! You can also help us tremendously by making some noise!!!! Loud voices carry far, especially through horror fans. We believe in the power of spreading the word, so spread some of that Sweethearts love around!
If you've made it this far, we SINCERELY thank you and appreciate your time and support with this project!
