Short Summary

We at Ironstar films are passionate about making exciting genre movies. cinematic movies, films that are entertaining and that you want to watch. We are continuing this with our 5th film Tellurian. 

Tellurian is a original Science fiction story which is inspired by our love of 80’s movies, Superheroes and Comic books. This is the first story in a world that can continue to be expanded through a range of media. With your help we can make something original and amazing! 

STORY

A Sci-fi origin story set 15 years after Extra Terrestrials have laid siege to earth destroying the human populations ability to procreate and removing the youngest generation completely.

Humankind survives in pockets of resistance, but are quickly losing numbers and hope.

 Until one child reappears. The last to have been born of earth. Wanted by both sides of the conflict. It is up to rebel fighter Walsh and his team to track down the child and protect him from not only alien capture but a sinister plan to wipe out for humanity for good.

A tale of loss, family, friendship and what it truly means to be Human. TELLURIAN is a Sci-fi adventure story not to be missed.  

As an Origin story Tellurian sets up the universe in which our rebel heroes and Alien forces survive and battle while focusing on a truly human story. With huge potential for further adventure on screen as well as potentially on the page we hope TELLURIAN is a film everyone can enjoy.. 

Our previous four films have all been well received, playing at numerous film festivals and have been fortunate enough to pick up some awards and also shown on US television. Every film is a learning experience for us and Tellurian has been no different.

We are on a journey to try and produce good quality feature length films that are based in Scotland but are a bit different from the norm. Tellurian is the next step towards fulfilling that dream. 

Although starting out as  proof of concept short film, we realised that we could stretch our  initial   Budget much further to film Tellurian  as a full feature. We raised £4700 in previous campaigns and have stretched every penny to film almost 65 minutes of completed footage. We need to raise £5000 more to complete our film for the summer of 2019. 

So far TELLURIAN  has  allowed us to work with some extremely talented and respected people within their field.  Completing this will allow us to reach our  goal of creating a feature film in Scotland and another step closer to becoming self sufficient and able to  provide real working opportunities for talent across Scotland, the UK and worldwide for people to  showcase their skills in the film industry.

In total we budgeted the short film originally in the region of £10000. we raised just under £5000 with our previous fundraisers.Having realised we can complete the film with the skills we have. These funds have allowed us to film around 90 % of the feature film.  

As we have increased the film from a short to a feature our total budget required has increased to  £12000.  So what will your contributions go towards? As we are nearly finished production.Most funds raised At this stage will primarily go towards post production costs. With some going toward the final 4 days shooting. 

Location fees:- We have tried to use locations that we can get for free or at a reduced price but we do need a couple of locations that will cost us some money. your contributions will allow us to secure these in order to provide the best locations for the film as well as ensuring the films continuity is spot on.

Equipment:- don't worry we've got this covered!  Although if we manage to raise above our goal we can get some new equipment to get some really cool additional shots!! We often make our own equipment to keep costs down. Meaning as much of the funds raised will be seen on screen.

Cast and Crew Food/Travel/Expenses:-

One of the biggest costs on any film set is getting cast and crew there and keeping said cast and crew fed and happy throughout  the long shooting days. Your contributions will help us ensure we can work for longer on each day and minimise the number of days that we need to shoot. 

We have an extremely talented cast and crew attached to Tellurian. We have included a little about some of our main cast below.

Craig McGinlay as Mike Walsh

Craig is best known for playing Percival  alongside Charlie Hunnam in the Guy Ritchie film KING ARTHUR: Legend of the Sword. Craig had previously worked alongside Ritchie and David Beckham on a campaign for HAIG WHISKEY. Craig has recently  worked on The History Channels KNIGHTFALL as Alfred and Tellurian marks his third collaboration with IRONSTAR FILMS. 

Kerry Browne as Eva “Breaker” Breakwell

Kerry is an award winning actress born and raised in Paisley Scotland. She appeared in a leading role as the sorceress Nathara in independent fantasy THE GAELIC KING. In 2018 she starred as famous author Dame Catherine Cookson in the film ‘OUR CATHERINE’ and in the award winning WW2 short film by Patrick Ryder ‘THE CODE’.  As well as TELLURIAN, Kerry will be seen in the upcoming drama feature ‘SCHEMERS’ as spirited music producer Charlie. 

Stephen Humpage as MOLE

Stephen Hummpage is an actor and producer known for ‘ FREE BIRD’ and ‘MISERS DREAM’ 

Stephen is also known for his stage work having picked up ‘Best Emeging Actor Award’ for his performance in Liam Rudden’s THIEF  at the United Solo Theatre in NEW YORK. Stephen has also recently concluded a stint in the stage show ‘I RAN WITH THE GANG’ based on the life of BAY CITY ROLLER Alan Longmuir. 

Chris O’Mara as JACK

Chris is an IronStar stalwart, having been in every one of our productions so far. Making his Debut in our first award winning short BLOODLOSS. Chris followed this up with a fantastic performance in both the  Remi award winning short THE CLEARING and the  Twisted picture award winner BEST FRIENDS COME IN BOXES . He has since appeared in KILLSHOT and A PRIVATE REVOLUTION. Since his collaborations with IRONSTAR Chris has worked in feature film BRIDAL FEVER and the highly anticipated short MISERS DREAM. 

Brandon Boyd as SETH

Brandon makes his feature debut with TELLURIAN. A talented young stage actor. We look forward to seeing Brandon’s  performance on screen. 

We have a hugely talented cast and crew attached to TELLURIAN and it would take forever to list everyone here. we've got this covered! We we do all our editing in house! 

VFX

 As Tellurian is a sci-fi, we have tried to do many effects practically as much as possible (see props/costumes/ practical fx) but there is some VFX  work that we will need to create to ensure the TELLURIAN world is fully realised.although raising above our target may allow us to bring some help in to have more impressive VFX.

Props and  Practical Visual effects:

For Tellurian we have been fortunate to have found and worked with the amazingly talented prop builder Steve Wild. He has created amazing costumes, prop weapons such as the Deathwing Bow and Sniper Rifle as well as the amazing 7ft space Pod. Your contributions will hep us to cover the costs of amazing props such as these in order to bring the Tellurian story to life.

Sound: This is where it gets really exciting!

Your contributions will allow us to bring on board the incredibly talented composer James Sizemore who has previously provided worked on Peter Jacksons THE HOBBIT Trilogy and the Mark Ruffalo (Hulk,Avengers) starring SPOTLIGHT and most recently additional arrangements on M.Night Shyamalan’s SPLIT starring James McEvoy.

  James Sizemore  is incredibly talented and has already been working on a track we have creatively named Tellurian- Theme.  You must agree that by getting someone of James Knowledge and ability involved in composing the soundtrack  shows the level of quality that we are aiming for despite being a low budget indie film.

By contributing to this film you will help us not only complete this film and provide opportunities for many creative people both in front of and behind the camera to showcase their skills to a worldwide audience. You will also be helping to provide the foundation for Ironstar films to progress to a level where it can benefit  many more talented people through the development of future projects. Scotland is crying out for more films to be made here and with your help we can take a step closer to making that a reality..

Risks and Challenges

We have made four previous films and each has went on to be successful in its own right. Each film has helped us to start to build a reputation of producing quality work. We hope that our previous experience and the evidence on this page can help prove that we are worth backing. That what we will produce is ambitious but also a worthwhile step towards helping build a vital opportunity for talent across Scotland to Showcase their skills within their own independent film industry.

if we don't receive the budget we hope for, then we will continue to try and raise funds in a variety of ways until we can finish the film to the standard we want. This film has taken around two years to get to this point and while we will take as long as needed to finish the film to the standard we expect we do have a time limit in order to ensure cast and crew are available.
