Christ has ascended to Heaven. The disciples have waited in Jerusalem for the coming of the Holy Spirit. Now, filled with Its power, they embark upon the great commission, to spread the gospel message throughout Judea, and to the ends of the earth.
In The Acts, you take on the role of disciples in the early church. Starting in Judea, you can spread throughout the Roman Empire, sharing the gospel in the goal of adding believers. Each turn you can preach, pray, plant churches, write letters, disciple others, and perform mighty miracles. Race to reach the farthest provinces first, or focus your strategy around the spiritual gifts you have prayed for. With multiple paths to victory, every game is unique. The Acts is faithful to the Bible, yet requires no biblical knowledge to play and enjoy.

The Acts is at its heart a simple, worker placement style board game. There are six regions your disciples can act in, each containing the same potential actions:

Each player has the same six miracle cards available to use during the game. Players can also pray for a spiritual gift, which provides an ongoing benefit and can help shape your strategy. Much as in real life, preaching has greater impact in areas that have not yet been reached by the gospel. The Acts simulates this through diminishing returns in each region as people continue to preach there. At the same time, prayer gains in impact as more souls are saved in a particular region. Against this backdrop, their are multiple strategies that can be successfully employed.

Peter Schultz - Designer
Peter loves God, his family, his country, and gaming. The Acts is his third game design, following the well received Builders of Blankenburg, and its Cutthroat expansion. Beyond The Acts, he has five other game projects in the pipeline, such as the Fields and Flocks expansion for Blankenburg. Additional projects incorporate mechanics including deck building, worker placement, and card drafting. Outside of game design, he holds down a day job in the financial services industry, looking forward to family game night every Friday.
Liz Stephanoff - Artist
Liz is a digital illustrator and designer located in Palos Verdes, California. A graduate of a BFA in Drawing and Painting from California State University, Long Beach and an MFA in Illustration from California State University, Fullerton, she offers a unique perspective on reality and the surreal... the product of which is a combination of luscious environments and captivating color to provoke thought and arouse the senses. In addition to being the artist behind The Acts and Builders of Blankenburg with its 100+ art assets, you may recognize her work on other game covers and book jackets.
Risks and challenges
Though new to indiegogo, we are not new to crowd funding. Having already successfully completed and delivered on two prior Kickstarter campaigns, plus funing The Acts on Kickstarter, risks are limited. The Acts has been going through the design process for some time. All the art is currently complete and production about to begin. While there is always the potential of unforeseen issues during production, we are very transparent and keep our backers up to date, as can be seen in prior campaigns.
