Our Story
The Berlin Opera Group is a brand new opera group based in Germany. We are a group of international singers and musicians from America, Ireland, Israel, Canada, and Australia, and we have come together with our shared love for beautiful music in order to bring that music to life on stage. Our goal is to combine quality, beauty, passion, and sincerity in a magical creation of art. We were founded in a living room in Schöneberg, Berlin at the start of 2016, and what started as a simple vision has grown into a wonderful project that will bring audiences of all ages and backgrounds together to enjoy this unique art form.
Because of your support, we were able to put on our first full opera - Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro - with orchestra at the wonderful ehemaliges stummfilmkino Delphi Theater in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin at the end of May, and now we are ready for the second opera of our season: Puccini's La Boheme. La Boheme is one of the most beautiful and most famous operas ever written. It is a story of love, relationships, friendship, and of course, heartbreak. We will be performing this opera at the Brotfabrik theater in Prenzlauer Berg on October 13th, 14th, and 15th. We are so excited to put on this magical opera, and once again we need YOUR help!

What We Need & What You Get
This is where we need your help. You already helped us raise over $5,000 for Le Nozze di Figaro, and now, to put on La Boheme, we will need to raise about $3,650 more. There are so many costs involved in putting on an opera including the venue, pianist, orchestra, rehearsal spaces, costumes, marketing material, and set pieces. Your generous donations will make it possible for us to put on another high quality opera in October.
Here is an exact breakdown of what we are trying to raise for La Boheme:
- Venue: $800
- Pianist fee for all rehearsals and performances: $850
- Posters and marketing materials: $250
- Rehearsal space: $550
- Costumes, Set pieces, and programs: $200
- Chamber Orchestra: $1,000
Total: $3,650
Every donation you give gets you a special perk-from a postcard from Berlin, a CD of duets and arias from the cast of the Berlin Opera Project, to a free ticket to our performance of La Boheme! Plus anyone who donates will get their name printed in our program for the opera. The perk you get depends on the amount you donate. You can see which donation gets you which perk on the right side of this page!
The Impact
Our mission is to create performance opportunities for ourselves and fellow singers in a setting we can be proud of and our audiences can be moved by, while upholding the quality and integrity of this beautiful art form.
By donating, you will help us on our next step to a professional career. With your help, we will gain performance experience, build our repertoire, and become ready for the big stages in Germany, simultaneously making opera alive and making it accessible to modern audiences in Berlin.
Even if you can't donate, or if you want to help us even more, you can also help by sharing our campaign and posting this link on all the social networking websites like Facebook, Google +, Twitter, and even e-mail! We will appreciate every little thing you do!
Vielen, vielen Dank für Alles!
