Hi Everyone! Thanks for checking out my campaign! I'm Shiva - a writer, artist (www.serpentinae.com and www.thepentaclepath.com), organizer, and satanist.

The mythology behind satanic ritual is immense. Stories of human sacrifice and barbaric acts abound and have been falsely constructed throughout the centuries as a means execute, imprison, and demonize people.  In modern times, we've seen the resurgence of this belief via the Satanic Panic of the late 20th century. In reality, modern satanic ritual practice couldn't be further from these tales.

Over the years I've constructed rituals to use in my personal life as well as group rituals for The Satanic Temple Headquarters. I've explored the transformative nature of satanic ritual and witnessed it as a powerful force of good in my life and those who have used it to better themselves.

The Devil's Tome is a book that explores non-theistic satanic ritual as a means for healing, empowerment, and community building.  I wanted to create the book I fantasized about finding when I first began my own journey into satanism - a stunningly beautiful work of art that would also serve as guide to help me understand modern satanic ritual and build my own practice.

I remember scouring old bookstores to find some gorgeously packaged mythical work to guide to inspire me as I began my journey into the occult, but nothing really fit the bill. The books I'm offering via this campaign are the realization of that fantasy. I'm creating a very limited first-edition printing of the illustrated ritual book that comes in two forms - a pearl linen cloth hardcover and a leather hardcover. Each will be stamped with gold foiling on the cover and include illustrations by Lex Corey and Lucien Greaves. Each will be limited to 111 copies.

Inside the book you will find a foreword by Lucien Greaves, Co-Founder and Spokesperson of The Satanic Temple; an overview of my journey in to satanic ritual; the scientific case for secular ritual; and a collection of solo and group rituals you can use to further your own practice or inspire your own unique path.

What We Need

I went back and forth with this decision to crowdfund or seek a publisher, but ultimately I wanted to retain as much creative control as possible (Satanist much?) and publish under my own company Serpentinae. This book is very personal to me and isn't aimed at the mass market. I want to make the book challenging and a work of art itself, so I have to have my little magical hands in all aspects of production. This means that I need your help to make the physical product a reality. I'm hoping to raise at least $6,666 to cover printing cost, taxes, shipping, and fees for these special limited edition volumes.

Lucien Greaves and I are both lifelong musicians and have started collaborating on music and performance over the last few years. Risks & Challenges

Publishing a book creates its own set of challenges, but I'm ready! I have a successful business I've been running for the last 3 years and a history of hitting deadlines and getting products out on time! I've scheduled the release for March to build in any unanticipated delays and  will keep you up-to-date as my book hits each key milestone and publishes.
