How many fake cell towers exist in the USA?

Over the last few months thousands of news stories have been published about fake cell towers (imsi catchers/gsm interceptors) located across the USA. Our team at ESD America Inc have been swamped with questions from the media and private citizens.
The conclusion is that most people are interested in knowing how secure their cellular communications are and how many interceptors are active in the USA and where..
Many people suspect cellular surveillance in their neighbourhoods and workplaces. But cannot afford the $3500 for a CP500 Cryptophone to investigate themselves.
ESD America decided that we should do what we can to help address the publics concerns. So we have created the "Tin Foil Road Trip" to investigate network issues and suspected interception activity across the lower 48 states.
In recent months ESD America has detected interceptors in the states of California, Nevada, Arizona, Washington State, Colorado, Idaho, Texas, New York and many more.
The "Tin Foil Hat RoadTrip" is our way of addressing a major concern to American citizens right to privacy. Results will be published throughout 2015 as information is gathered.
