Chrisie Wood-Hopps - Director

Chrisie is 23 years of age, is a mother, a student and a filmmaker/photographer. The Forest is her first real opportunity to work as director on a larger project and she is incredibly passionate about the project. Chrisie has an eye for natural colour and lighting and has a unique style of filmmaking and uses poetry to enhance the story through visuals.

Adamski Fleetwood - Writer 

Adam is 27 years of age, just graduated from university and is a writer and director of photography for most projects he is a part of. Adam has been passionate about film, writing, camera work and horror since a young age and that passion has never faded. His style is very unique in that he uses darkness to his advantage and loves only using practical effects in film to maintain authenticity.

A little bit of context

We’re making a fan film based on the video game “The Forest” by Endnight Games. We truly believe that this story needs to be told in as many formats as possible as it’s a gripping tale of a father’s love, a battle of survival, a fight to remain sane and most importantly a thrilling story about the lengths a parent will go to to save their child from danger. 

We have been wanting to make this film together for 2 years now and feel like now is the perfect time to do so. It’s our opportunity to show what we can do as a team and get noticed within the industry. 

But there’s a problem

We’re asking for not only your financial support with making this film a possibility, but we’re wanting to make a safe and positive community based around the making of this film. We want to have you to join us on this journey and go through the rollercoaster ride with us!

A major bump in our road to making this film is the budget too. We are aiming to film in Canada in order to make the film feel environmentally accurate to the environment of the game which is the bulk of why we need your generous contributions.

Here’s what we’re doing about it

What we’re doing to make everything work out the way we plan for it to us by working at every available opportunity in making the script perfect, planning locations, getting together ideas on character design, SFX etc.

We’re also working on creating a place for our community to communicate online where everything can be moderated in order to make it the safe and supportive environment that we wish to create.

We’re also saving our own money where we can (however being students, a young mum, disabled and living in a city makes that rather difficult)! We’re putting our all into this project and we’re doing it to provide an amazing cinematic experience for us all and for us to have something we’ve made that we can stand up and say “we did that and we did it well”.
