Synopsis

One day, without any explanation, Jo suddenly disappears. After some days without news of her, he finds out that she has gone to Burning Man with her ex, Alex, and her incendiary friend Penelope. Fearing he might have lost her forever, Eric embarks on a chaotic and life changing journey to try and find her in the hopes to win her back. Our intention is to shoot with a very small crew and without being invasive. We want to respect the principles of the festival and the people that bring it to live to the fullest. We don’t want to be an obstacle to people’s experience but an enhancer. We want our characters/actors to live the festival so we can capture the true essence of this universe.
We want the Burning Man community to be proud of this film.

Queremos que la comunidad de Burning Man se sienta orgullosa de esta película.
Where are we at?
In pre-production: finalizing the casting process, and the logistics of the shoot; preparing art materials; going through final rewrites etc.
The Girl From The Song is being funded out of the team own savings, a generous contribution from ESCAC and a small group of investors who believe in the potential of the film. We are also building collaborations with schools in Nevada and London, where the second part of production will take place. However, we need to equip ourselves for Black Rock city and make sure we put together a crew that understands the weather, the geography and the logistics of shooting in such a location. In order to secure the completion of this film we need your help! We know there’s a strong wave of supporters out there, from filmmakers and movie fanatics, to Burning Man and music lovers.
Every cent you donate, goes directly into the production of the film.
Last year, our team made a trip to Burning Man, the birth of a web documentary series project as the cameras follow the team in their wild journey to shoot The Girl From The Song. Take a look at this exclusive teaser! More info on the eight-episode series, here: https://alex-antolino-jujg.squarespace.com/#intro

Where will the money go?

> Equipment rental: We need specific, smaller equipment that’s non-invasive.
> RV Rental to have a “dust free” zone in our camp and resting area for the actors
> Production design: Art decorations / RV decorations / Wardrobe expenses for the actors.
> Transportation: A big portion of our budget is about getting there! Not only do we need to arrive to Nevada, but the trip to the Black Rock Desert with all the equipment is an adventure on itself.
> Post-Production: Color, sound design as well as our festival and distribution plans, which includes the creation of high quality exhibition copies.
We have set our official goal at US $30.000 but, in case of surpassing that goal (how beautiful would that be?), all additional funding will go into Post-Production and both the production and release of the film’s soundtrack.
