WHAT MAKES THIS FILM “DIFFERENT”
“The Labyrinth” is the first horror movie (psychological thriller) aiming on raising awareness about Mental Health and attempting to help remove the stigma which even in nowadays, unfortunately, still exists.
Shot during the pandemic with more than 30 artists (actors, musicians, crew) taking part in the making of this film, I was finally able to make this story come into life.
Mental health awareness is greatly lacking globally, and it constitutes a major issue in human interactions today.
Moreover by purchasing one of these perks you are able not only to support this effort but also to present yourself or your art since you can be given the chance to become a part of the team. The choices are many. You can choose to star in the film, do a voice over, promote your music /song or even become a co-producer! Unfortunately the perks in these categories are limited, so maybe the best time to purchase your favorite perk, is now!!!
ABOUT THE STORY OF “THE LABYRINTH”
A bell calls to mind some yearning from the past. You step into the kitchen, smell a hint of smoke coming from the oven or the microwave or somewhere, and cannot help but wonder if this is it. The smell, however faint, fills you with terror – and no matter how hard you look, you can't find it.
These are your memories, and while they may take their leave from time to time, they never go away for too long.
This is a lesson that Ariadne is destined to learn in the strangest and most thrilling of ways.
Ariadne is an "ordinary" single mother in her 40s. She and her 6 year old daughter Anna seem to be living a quite life. But one day, out of the blue, Ariadne notices a change in Anna's behavior. The little girl looks sad, avoids going out for walks and doesn't seem to enjoy the things she used to. Later Ariadne discovers a hidden drawing of Anna's, that is picturing two little girls playing happily while on their left side there is a dark scary creature that seems terrifying.
Ariadne informs Anna's teacher (Emma) about the incident as well as her grandpa, David. David is Ariadne's only close relative. They have a strong bond since he was the one that raised her from when she was a baby.
Both Anna's teacher as well as David, reassure Ariadne that there is nothing wrong with Anna and that due to the pandemic all children are going through a tough phase.
Moreover, because David is very close to Anna and they speak on the phone every single day, he tells Ariadne that he thinks he knows what is going on. According to him, Anna is very sad because due to the pandemic and the fact that he is recovering from a virus, he wont be able to be there on her birthday for the first time. That is why he asks Ariadne to do him a favor. He wants her to help him create a story book (titled "Tiny Irma") as a gift for Anna's birthday. He will narrate the story to Ariadne and since Ariadne was always good at drawing, she will draw all the pictures accordingly.
Ariadne finally agrees because she knows that Anna loves story books more than anything in this world. But unfortunately they are only left with three days to finish the story book. As Ariadne is fighting against time to complete the drawings, weird things are starting to happen. Doors are constantly squeaking during the night, strange shadows start to appear out of nowhere, Ariadne is constantly feeling like she is being watched, until suddenly she finds herself falling into a dark hole and ends up trapped inside a Labyrinth where a wild dark Beast lives.
Now Ariadne is torn between two parallel realities. Struggling to appear "normal" in our world while fighting to break free from the Labyrinth without being noticed by the Beast, she is called to enter the biggest battle of her life.
Will Ariadne manage to find her way out of the Labyrinth?
Why does the dark creature in Anna's drawings resemble the Beast? Is she also trapped inside the Labyrinth?
Who is tiny Irma in David's story and how can a fictional character show her the way out of the Labyrinth?
ABOUT ME AND THE LABYRINTH
My name is Anna Iris and I am an actress/ published novelist/ indie filmmaker. Two and a half years ago I created a campaign titled "Awareness the Project" and created short videos in an effort to raise awareness about serious issues that concern all of us (domestic violence, addiction, deforestation, water pollution, racism and much more). The campaign gained much attention and so that gave me the opportunity to collaborate with important people from the film industry.
Later, I decided to take it a step further and so one year ago I started shooting "The Labyrinth".
The film was shot with independent funds and now I need your help so I can fund the post production as well as the film's promotional campaign.
Being someone who has struggled most of his life with depression, anxiety and post traumatic stress, it is obvious to say that this film is very close to my heart.
Your support will give me the opportunity to create more films in the near future and spread awareness through my art.
ONE MORE WAY TO HELP
In addition to making a monetary contribution to this campaign, you can show your support for The Labyrinth by sharing a link to the campaign page on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and any other social media platforms you use. Spread the word! Let all of your friends and family know why you're excited to see this emotionally charged psychological thriller.
You can follow me on my instagram account @iris.anna_official and learn all the latest updates regarding the film!
I appreciate all your support. Thank you in advance!
Last but not least...
This film is dedicated in the loving memory of David Fletcher, a Proud Yorkshire Man whose soul sailed on the other side on January 7 of 2004.
