A New Dawn
This is the most ambitious project I have ever done.
For the last five years, I have been self-publishing my comic book series, and although the comic book business is my vocation, my initial passion is making films. While creating my comic book and residing in the Pacific Northwest, I have been fortunate to join the Bellingham film community. As a result, I’ve been helping indie creators bring the best out of their stories, participating in film projects in various roles, on and off-screen.
The last film I worked on is what inspired me to build this project. This will be the first time being behind the camera with a story I wrote about a family of three monster hunters. They are descendants from a long line of executioners, that are part of an elite organization called ‘The Guild Of Executioners.’ An order of elite killers whose specialty is hunting and exterminating all malicious creatures around the globe. THE LAST SUNRISE tells a story of a father, mother, and daughter team who are out on another night of exterminating vampires. The story of killing vampires might make this short a horror film, yet the core is the bond between these three characters.
Let's Meet The Family
Alejandro Gomez, writer/director/producer: The latest indie films that I worked on include "Chain Letter," and "Bite Night," alongside Sophie Burns. The script for The Last Sunrise started at the beginning of the pandemic and in the last few months, I began to coordinate a cast and crew.
Although this is my first indie film, I'm fortunate enough that I am not going in completely blind. The friends I have made over the last few years have been nothing short of generous with their talents, resources and time. It's their help that makes me optimistic for this film to succeed.
Nathan Harris, director of photography: Nathan Harris is a lifelong athlete, tech, and artist who grew up in Walla Walla, Wa. His dedication to skateboarding has led to countless adventures filming and making videos with buddies. Always curious and learning, when at home you'll find him engrossed in creative projects like producing electronic music and video editing. Drones and filming are a natural extension of this experience drawing on that mindset of doing an intense trick while staying composed, understanding momentum, composition, and tech while keeping an eye on the result.
On his current YouTube channel, Rise And Find, he's proven that he's got an incredible eye and his drone acrobats are nothing short but jaw-dropping.
Sara Lohman, composer: Residing in Los Angeles, Sara Lohman has written on such shows as Netflix's Grace and Frankie and many more, she's also an accomplished director. Among those credits, Sara is an incredible musician and for over 20 years she's been producing her music with her side project, Broken.

Alejandro Gomez has been living in the Pacific Northwest since 2005. Alejandro has been self-publishing his own horror/drama comic book series, The Leather Of The Whip. His on-screen work includes Chain Letter and Bite Night.
So far, the crew has been selected, and all of the actors' participation is contingent on availability when we schedule production.
Dusk Till Dawn
The cast and crew have given their time, talent, and efforts to help make this dream all the more tangible. Your generous contribution goes towards the actor's dedicated skills, costumes, special effects, props, stunt coordinators, and trainers. Everyone who has helped build the foundations is also helping build their portfolios and get their names and voices out to the world. Each one who signed on to this film has something incredible to offer and it is my job to bring out the best in them. As I've stated before, this is the most ambitious project I have ever done, but it's a project that can only truly succeed is with your help and support. Your contribution admits you into a world-building experience where you get to be a part of it from the ground up.
With a touch of heart and humor, this short horror film is a humble story with a clear image of how it can be told. All the passion and dedication to making this film succeed is there and with your support, we can truly see this dream come to fruition.

Where's The Money Going?
The funding goes to the cast who already have given their time to prepare for this project. Our stunt coordinator has gathered an eager group of volunteers ready to train, tumble, and bring out the horror and action. Another exciting piece is that the whole process will be followed with behind-the-scenes footage to show the dedication this cast and crew have for this project.
Also, your contribution helps rent the proper lighting, camera, and sound equipment which is generously provided by local filmmakers, so all funds stay local and within the community.
The funds will go towards:
- make-up and costumes
- special effects
- sound and lighting equipment
- food for the cast and crew.

The costs add to $1,567.50.
It's truly amazing how everyone is ready to give all their passion, creativity, and energy just for the love of the medium. They deserve to be rewarded for their talented work and dedication.
Now the perks!
When it comes to the perks, I want the contributors to not only be part of the audience but a part of the experience. Where you get to learn more details about the Executioners, the Guild that the viewing audience doesn't know. Your support will get you:
- PDF of the script, storyboards, and film
- Your name in the credits, including a producer credit
- Original limited edition enamel pins that are specially made for this film!
- AND MORE!
It's to be expected that this project might not get fully funded. The money raised will go towards the actors and the academy where the stunt crew train. Every penny is divided equally among everyone who has their hands on this project. and most importantly, feeding everyone!
Let's Begin!
As eager as I am about getting this film up and going, I don't want to sacrifice quality for time. This campaign is to not only reward those who've contributed but to the artists who helped put this together. To remind them that this is not a success that goes to one person, but to everyone and it is an investment for their future careers.
Saving The Day
