Hi
Its been 17 years since I recorded "Still Standing", and I am ready to get back in
the studio. I have so many songs I want to share with you, but
need your help to put my new album "Talking to Trees" together
properly. Check out "BackRoom" from the album "Still Standing" here: https://1001sasongs.wordpress.com/2015/12/11/ba...

By buying a copy of the new album in advance, you can help me
raise the funds needed for studio time, engineers, mastering etc. so I
can record totally independently without record company influence :-)
I am asking you to help me raise $50 000. Sounds like a lot I know, but bear in mind the budget for the last Ellamental album was $350 000. I just want to do a beautiful
album, and I want to do the songs justice, for me and for you, and doing
it right means spending some money, quite a lot of it in fact.
Different contributions will get you different rewards, so be sure to
check out the different Perks on the top right ---->

Everyone who contributes will receive a recording of "Bark: A
Tree Story", featured in my Indiegogo intro and a digital download of
the poster below: "Bark the Tree" and of course everyone will receive a gift
download of my birthday gig on the 28th November (see pics of the farm
venue in the GALLERY shortly), just as soon as we can edit the footage together
in the week or two following ;-)

For those that don't know me, I leave it to Jannie van Tonder's summation of my career & the videos in the GALLERY, to tell you my story;
Tim Parr is a veteran of the South African music scene who has shared
the stage with the likes of Hot House Flowers and Champion Jack DuPree.
He started his musical career as a youngster in Joburg back in 1976,
with the cult band Baxtop together with Larry Amos.

In the 80s he and his wife Heather Mac formed the band
Ellamental. They recorded two albums and many singles for EMI Records
and had several Number One hits in South Africa.

They relocated to
Ireland in 1986 and spent seven years performing in Europe and USA.The head of the Warner Brothers in New York heard Ellamental live
at the Marquee club in London and signed them up to do an album with
Simply Red producer Stewart Levine, after which Ellamental supported
Joan Baez at the Montreaux Jazz Festival in 1989.

Tim returned to SA and started the Zapdragons in 1994 which
included Josh Hawks on bass (now with Freshly Ground). He released a
solo album Still Standing in 1996, from which the single “If you Rush
You Crush” reached No. 4 on 5FM SA, and the song “Still Standing”
reached the charts in USA. Tim now lives in Cape Town and performs
regularly at venues around the country.

So tell your friends, Tweet my Indiegogo campaign and post a link on
your Facebook page etc, help me spread the word because every little bit
helps, and the more people behind me, the better the album will be!
Love & peace
Tim
