Last year at #TOTechWrap we raised close to $3000 for the Daily Bread Food Bank providing food for 480 people. Wow! This year #TOTechBash will help change healthcare through technology by supporting Not Impossible Labs. Widely known for the creation of The EyeWriter, Mick Ebeling and his team of makers and hackers are helping many by helping individuals, and providing low-cost solutions on an open source, DIY platform. What a great way for our Toronto community to contribute globally to improving the lives of others with technology.
The Campaign
This event is both a celebration and fundraiser. All proceeds will be donated to Not Impossible Labs (registered 501c3 organization) so that they can continue to help improve the lives of others worldwide with open source technology.
#TOTechBash is run by a team of volunteers who will not make any money from this. Our estimated venue cost is $5785.60, so we need to hit at least that to pay for the event. All monies collected above and beyond the final venue bill and any incurred expenses (eg. printing costs, logistics, Indiegogo fees, etc) will be donated. Let’s beat last year's donation!
The Perks
Get in on the action early and nab one of our Super Early Bird or Early Bird tickets while they last at a ridiculously low price. When those are gone, you can still join the celebration for only $20 for a Standard ticket – plus, all ticket types include one free drink ticket at the bar and one raffle ticket for our giveaways!
Looking to have your company name listed as one of our esteemed sponsors? We’ve got different sponsorship levels including exclusive status, and all of which will get your logo on our website, a shout out at the event, and tickets for your team. Some packages also include taking the mic to tell all the attendees how much you love being part of the Toronto tech community!
The People
Last year’s celebration attracted close to 400 attendees and this year we are anticipating 500 guests from the Toronto tech community: developers, designers, creative technologists, makers, hackers, entrepreneurs – anyone and everyone who works in tech! Whether you are a freelancer, team member, or co-founder at one of the city’s startups, organizations, or companies, or if you are active members of community groups, participate in hackathons, contribute to open source projects – you name it, you should be there. This is your opportunity to connect and network with the entire tech community!
The Team
#TOTechBash was co-founded by Caroline McGregor and Matthew Potter, both of whom are active members of the Toronto tech community as volunteer organizers for their respective community groups, through their work, hackathons, installations, and so much more. This event would not be possible without the support of the entire tech community – and that includes you!
