Vici is short film about a young woman who looks to overcome and finalize her haunting past through the means of boxing.

Short Summary

Athena is a young motivated boxer. When she meets Aris, a confident and alluring young man with a successful boxing career, she is brought in by his unrelenting charm.

Athena soon learns Aris is not who he appears to be and after a turbulent relationship, her past with Aris becomes the driving force for her as a boxer, as she seeks the kind of retribution only a fighter could ask for. 

Making a film usually takes an astronomical amount of funding, but with my few connections and generous friends, I feel that this story can be told for around 8.5.

The Impact

 As the writer and director of Vici, I thought it would be compelling to write a strong story centered around a female character. The film is a physical metaphor about Athena dealing with her own inner struggle after being abused.

 At first it was just a simple story in the back of my head that I thought would be cool to shoot. In the end, I wanted to tell something meaningful, powerful, a story that doesn't pull any punches (No Pun Intended). A story we could all relate to regardless of your background, sex, beliefs or identity.

 Abuse is a subject I am sure we've all encountered in our lives. Whether it be from personal experience or someone close you, we all have an understanding of the struggle and what it takes to come back from it. This story hits close to home and is dedicated to all those I know who've had to endure such tragedy. 

 This is the reason why I am invested in telling this story. Athena represents more than just one person, she represents us all and the reality some people faced or continue to face today.
