Short Summary

We are the band WILD EARTH! We exist to create spiritual/gospel centric alternative rock music and art! We’ve been on this journey for almost 10 years, so far releasing 2 EP’s, 2 LP’s and some singles that have all far surpassed a reach we ever expected! We’ve now been inspired to embark on our 3rd full length album release titled “Weary Hymns Along the Way”. These are songs that attempt to voice our own experiences of being in seasons of weariness, darkness, emotional fatigue and doubt yet through a journey within, still experiencing hope, abundance, joy. We really believe this music might be a soundtrack for someone who shares this kind of experience with us. To do this right as independent artists, we want to bring it to our community to partner with us in making this project possible and accessible. We've put together an array of awesome perks that we think you'll really enjoy and will help us pull off an amazing album project! We have 14 days to fund this campaign, will you join us!?!

What We Need & What You Get

Our total ask is $6000. The average full length album recording budget is much higher than this (usually between $10-20k). This budget only partially covers studio costs as we are contributing our own funds as well (we gotta have our own skin in the game!). So $4000 of this budget goes towards studio costs. The other $2000 goes towards fulfilling packages, merch, marketing and video costs. This is extremely lean for marketing and production costs so the more we can raise the more we can do. Though this part of the budget isn’t absolutely necessary to release the album, it would allow us to release this with quality and expand the impact of our music. The traditional path of bands and musicians is to get a record label and the label fronts these costs. Well the fun part of being an indie artist is that we get to partner with our own community instead. Basically YOU are our label!

The Impact

We're so thankful for the possibility to partner with our community to make art that we feel expresses something important about our spiritual journeys through the sounds of music. The album seeks to frame the spiritual life as a journey, being vulnerable about its struggles. As we felt invited to express these thoughts in a new album we simply hope that it resonates with others. Practically speaking, good quality art is hard work and just isn't possible without the support and encouragement of our community (that's you!). Our hearts is just to get our music to as many ears out there as possible, we have no need for this to financially benefit us. How funded this project is will simply determine our capacity for impact!

Risks & Challenges

We understand that it may be strange to consider giving money to a music project. No worries! There are so many ways besides financial support that you can participate with us in, read along for those ideas. We are all artists with families and that shapes how and what we are able to put into this project. Support from our community and friends is what makes it possible to create what we all share. We are fully trusting that what's needed will come and not stressing much else. Making music is our joy and we'll always find a way, in spite of whatever challenges there are.
