We've planted the seeds, now help us grow!

Wooden Spoon Herbs is seeking your help to build out a greenhouse into a new workspace that's ten times the size of our home studio:

• My name is Lauren Haynes, the founder and herbalist behind Wooden Spoon Herbs. My journey with plants began in my early twenties while working at a health food store. I've spent the past six years deepening my relationship with so many plant friends, attending any and every herb conference and studying in a three-year program with Phyllis Light. Working with plants is definitely my passion, joy and calling.

• Wooden Spoon Herbs began with a small handful of cash from waiting tables, and has grown over the past four years into a business bursting with life and vitality. We now have over 100 retailers worldwide, and can no longer be contained to our home studio. I am more than grateful for our growth, but it's time to upgrade to a bigger space to continue our work. With limited rental options in our rural community, we intend to build out an old commercial greenhouse structure into a 2,000 square foot workspace and office. 

• This space will be a place for me to make my wares, expand my offerings and product line, host workshops and apprenticeships, see clients, grow my team and grow plants to feature in my products. With this space I will be able to keep up with the fast-paced growth that my business keeps experiencing year after year, and able to provide comfort and support to all the people seeking alternatives in their wellness journey.

What We Need & What You Get

Here's the breakdown:

• We need $30,000 dollars to build out the structure, put on a new roof, make it water tight and furnish with a three-tub sink and stainless steel workbenches. We will also use any left over funds to purchase huge storage racks so that we can finally build up a sufficient backstock of products. We love the structure because it is yards from our cabin, has wonderful bones and is already outfitted with electricity and water.
• The main room of the structure will house production, storage and distribution, while the side room will house an office and consultation space. This is where I will see clients for one-on-one wellness appointments. (This could be you if you claim such a perk!) The main space will also be where I host workshops, and will have plenty of space for ample hands-on education.

• In the offchance we don't reach our full goal, any funds raised will still be put towards the studio! Building this studio is a nonnegotiable. We are 100% founder funded, with no investors or outside help. This studio will not only change our business, but change our lives. And we appreciate every penny of your help.
