Our Story
Word of Mom has the opportunity to go global via radio and now TV on BLU Success Television streaming on Roku, Amazon Fire and Apple TV.
WoM has been sharing the wisdom of women for more than 7 years. Mompreneurs, women-owned and home-based businesses, are breaking those myths that we are “dabbling” in business. We are smart, savvy professionals who have learned that we do not have to sacrifice a home and family to be successful, and we bring these NEW Business Women to the forefront, giving voice to their incredible stories, often for the very first time, as we empower each other on our amazing journeys to create the life we desire.
Our story began on a show called the Three Wise Girls and a 2-part segment on mompreneurs - women like me, building a business from home and raising a family. I know what it is to hear the nay-sayers and the "When are you going to quit this and get a real job" questions. Often finding support as you are building a business is one of the hardest things to do. Realizing how mompreneurs and women in business was the niche - and Word of Mom Radio was born!
We began doing one show every Thursday and grew into 5 days a week with 9 different segment hosts, mompreneurs advertising their businesses and people like Sarah Mann and Liz Callaway airing on our Music Monday shows!
Our current line up includes: Music, Movie or Matinee Monday, The Tuesday Business Spotlight, Wednesday Mindful Healthy Habits, Thursday Mompreneur Model Show and, once a month on Friday we air Moms After Dark! We share stories that educate, inspire or entertain mompreneurs and business people. We want to uplift those women and men who are working hard to promote themselves and make a difference in the world. Our brand keeps growing, our shows keep expanding and bringing this to television was logically our next step - so here we are - launching Word of Mom TV and the WoMMedia Network.
What We Need & What You Get
We are looking to raise $20,000 to launch WoMTV and buy the WoMRadio Channel on BlogTalkRadio. The funds would be used to purchase 3-4 GoPro360 cameras, 6 LAV microphones, hiring 2-3 photographers to film, edit and mount each TV episode, all travel expenses for location filming on both the east and west coast, sponsoring small businesses who don't have the funds to have their voice heard, and adding social media advertising for their segments. Any and all donations are gratefully accepted, and perks begin at $150+.
What makes the WoMMedia Network unique is that we are focused on sharing mompreneurs - the new businesswoman - finding the balance between building a business and raising a family, as well as women in business who, like us, have grown from home-based to an office where now others are working with them. The journey is a remarkable one and WoM looks to empower, encourage, inspire and educate as we share the wisdom of women, in business and in life.
If we don't reach our goal of $20,000.00 the first $4,000.00 we raise will purchase our cameras and microphones and editing software, as well as incorporating the Word of Mom Media Network. The next $6,000.00 will help pay our film crew and cover our expenses when filming. $2,500.00 will enable us to purchase WoMRadio Channel on BTR - which gives us 4 live banners and a video on our show page for our advertisers. The rest goes towards buying computers and recording equipment specific to podcasting and 12 months to rent a small studio to record. Once we accomplish all that, we want to offer production and administrative staff for both TV and Radio, a salary. With your help - we can make that happen!
The Impact
Empowering women and giving voice to their dreams, families and businesses is what the WoMMedia Network is all about. Building a business is not an easy task, and where do you go when you want to get the word out to the public? Our radio show/podcast has been educating, encouraging, inspiring and empowering women on a global scale for the past 7 years.
Guests on our radio show are given a platform to share their passions and they run with it. Our favorite story is one guest doing her first interview ever. She called into the show during her family's vacation, from the car as her husband and kids were in a restaurant! Fast forward 2 years and she was our first mompreneur advertiser...and 2 years after that, she was one of our many hosts that come in for 4-8 week segments - on online marketing. Now, she hosts monthly segments on bio-currency and long term wealth development! This is just one of the amazing stories of women that Word of Mom has made a difference for, in business and in life!

Risks & Challenges
We are doing our best to mitigate the risk by partnering with the Connecticut School of Broadcasting and giving their students the experience they need to create careers in the field. We are able to use their facilities and expertise and have had wonderful results so far. We are editing our first episodes and getting ready to launch the TV show.
The biggest challenges we are facing is that their equipment is older and they have many other students signing out the film equipment, so we need our own cameras and microphones to make sure that we are able to create network quality shows. We will also have the control we need to ensure timely completion of the editing and production process for each episode.
