Short Summary
Hello,
We're Brad Keller and Daniel O'Neill, co-directors of the 2016 Freestyle (Frisbee) Players Association World Championships.
In August of 2016, 120 top athletes from 15 nations will arrive in New York City to compete in the premier freestyle disc event of the year.
Your contribution will help make this event a total success, and give these international competitors and spectators an experience they'll never forget.
What We Need & What You Get
Running a tournament of this scale and importance comes with a lot of expenses. While our campaign goal of $15,000 will only cover a part of the cost, achieving it will be instrumental toward our success. Your contributions will help to pay for:
Outdoor/Indoor site fees
Insurance
Food & Beverage
Transportation
T-shirts & Discs
Trophies & Awards
Promotions & Marketing
Youth Outreach & Programming
As a token of our appreciation for your support, we have a few gifts to offer for varying levels of donation. (Any of our perk items can be held for pick-up at the event!)
The Impact
How often do you get to participate in the development of a fast-growing sport?
Well... THIS is your chance!
Recognized this year by the International Olympic Committee, disc sports are now played competitively in over 60 countries.
With the Freestyle World Championships coming to New York City, we have the perfect venue to take advantage of the current momentum of disc sports popularity, and grow the sport of Freestyle worldwide.
Challenges
Producing any public event in New York City is a challenge. The bureaucracy of scheduling, financing, and running an event of this magnitude is daunting.
But our experienced team has successfully organized and produced over a dozen disc events in New York City, including The Big Apple Jam, Disc Over New York, Drastic Plastic (1996 FPAW), the Eastern National Championships, and others.
Under the auspices of the Freestyle Players Association, we have the technical assistance and support to produce this world class event.
