Somewhere, in one of the poorest wards of Arusha, Tanzania, there is a person who needs fresh gauze to dress her open wound, a nurse who needs the right mask to treat her TB patient, or a child who needs a bag of IV fluid for life-threatening dehydration.

You can help to provide these medical supplies with a $5 donation.

My name is Brian Whang, and I am a physician in Boston, MA, USA.  I will be volunteering at the Daraja Mbili Health Centre in Arusha, Tanzania, near Mount Kilimanjaro.  The Health Centre is a small but influential hospital with a focus on women and children, maternity services, and HIV.  With my own means, and through the non-profit organization, IVHQ, I will be providing direct medical care, albeit briefly, from March 1st to March 7th.  In addition, I would like to bestow a donation from my friends (and friends of friends) so that the Health Centre may stay afloat with medical supplies after I leave.

Make your presence felt.

Through your gift, you can be there, too.  Breathe life into an AIDS patient with pneumonia by providing him with oxygen.  Mend the broken skin of a laborer's laceration by making sutures and surgical instruments available.
I acknowledge that, monetarily, this does not represent a lasting contribution.  It is literally putting a band-aid on the situation.  However, you will be making a vital connection with someone who exists halfway around the world.  This demonstration of solidarity with people of other cultures will be the true legacy of this mission.
Nowadays, don't we need this more than ever?
