Don't Tell Sarah! This is a Surprise!!!
My wife, Sarah, is the most amazing woman I have ever met. She's caring, kind, a mother, a teacher, a friend, an ally, the strength in our family. She is everything to me, everything to our son, Braedan, and means the world to anyone she has come in contact with. Sarah smiles all the time, her happiness and joy spread like wildfire, and she is always there to lend a hand with no strings attached.
Sarah has melanoma, a dark cloud looms, with a constant stop and go sense of unknowing what's next. We are early on in this adventure, and are confident the fight will be short, but regardless there is that bit of darkness or worst case scenario floating through our minds. That what if? We are confident the cancer doesn't stand a chance. We are confident it'll be a short battle. But even the shortest battle of this sort is taxing, it takes a toll on the body and mind. We are fortunate to have friends and family that care and are helping us in every day family activities, helping provide meals, and sending those good thoughts, prayers, vibes, thoughts and much more.
I want to provide Sarah with a gift, one that I cannot do alone, especially now as things financially get a bit more strained. The gift is one that can easily lighten up this dreary feeling inside, and one that I think would most definitely blow her mind. A little back story first though. We are big fans of the show The Arrow. We've been watching it since it started and following Flash and Supergirl as well. Stephen Amell is the lead in The Arrow, he and the rest of the cast are very fun and lively in social media (Sarah follows them). Sarah found that Stephen Amell is part of (board member) http://www.letsfcancer.com/ ... And he was doing one of his fundraisers, and she's always wanted to support the fight against cancer.. So as a starting point, and before she was diagnosed, my parents got her an Amell Fight Cancer (family friendly) hoodie. Well, since she has been diagnosed, this hoodie has become a bit of a security blanket, a comfort in a very uncertain time in this process (discovery). In June the Heroes and Villains Fan Fest comes to Portland. At which Stephen Amell and some of her favorite cast members will be there... I'm guessing you see where this is leading.
While we can get into the festivities at the regular weekend ticket price, I hope our community can gift her with the chance to meet one of the people responsible for her security blanket, Stephen Amell. There are 30 Stephen Amell tickets available for the event.. I'm hoping you guys can help me get two of those tickets. Give Sarah the opportunity to meet Stephen Amell, say thank you, and get a picture with him.
Our Goal is to get two tickets, leading to everlasting memories for Sarah, and giving her an amazingly bright light at what we hope will be a quick end to this dark tunnel.
The literal dollar amount goal is $800.00 (two people). Regardless of where we reach it'll go towards this adventure, and we thank everyone in advance that supports this gift for Sarah.
