Hello,
I am Jerram Gawley and I began my first term at Pearson College (UWC) this year.
During the fall term I became
involved with the Kumbuka Universal Learning Experience Foundation (KULE), led
by a teacher at Pearson College, Geoffrey Tindyebwa. It has become a goal of
mine to support the KULE Foundation.
The funds received will go towards my travel costs in journeying to Kenya to volunteer with the Kumbuka Universal Learning Experience Foundation (KULE) and all extra funds raised will go directly to KULE. In Kenya, volunteers from around the world, brought together by KULE, will be building a classroom that will eventually be part of a complete nursery school.
KULE approaches humanitarian aid from a unique perspective, centering its work around two main aspects: supporting a small Kenyan community, Mukangu, in their fight toward self-sustainability, and providing an eye-opening and life-changing educational experience for all participating individuals.
My desire to participate with KULE begins with this unique approach, for I see how an even greater good can be accomplished when working with and alongside friends -- as opposed to offering aid at arm's length. This journey is one to support and learn and it is one to give back and grow.
Thank you for your support.
