Backers pledging $74 or more will receive, in addition to paper, a discount ranging from 5% to 12% on subsequent paper and envelope orders through January 2019.

What is Flurry Cotton?

• Bright white, white and soft white in text weight, 1-ply and 2-ply sheets plus 18 sizes of 100% cotton envelopes.
• 20 point cover is suitable for letterpress, foil stamping, scoring, folding, die-cutting, embossing, engraving, and has a coating for HP Indigo printing.
• Carbon neutral manufacturing. Made with wind energy.
• Flurry is available only from Boxcar Press and has a very attractive price for an 100% cotton sheet. We work directly with the paper mill to keep costs down.
• Flurry Cotton is also known as "Bella Cotton Smooth," the house paper used by Bella Figura.

Risks & Challenges

Because of the favorable price, we run the risk of selling through our stock. We realize we need to maintain inventory year-round. We've been making our own cotton paper and envelopes for years and are experts at keeping them in stock for our own use. This campaign will help us increase our inventory so we also always have stock here for you.

We are pretty sure you'll love this paper. We will be shipping in January, so you don't have a long wait to give it a try. If you don't love the paper you receive, you will receive a full refund. 

Spread the Word

If you're not ready to commit to cartons of paper, you can still show your interest by ordering a broadside and swatchbook. We also have a sample pack intended for testing.

Please help us spread the word. Let your fellow printers know about this campaign so that we can get the ball rolling together. All backers receive a commemorative broadside with calligraphy by Elizabeth Hardin of Hardink Calligraphy. Printed in letterpress and foil stamping, the 11x17 broadside says: "The printing press is either the greatest blessing or greatest curse of modern times, one sometimes forgets which. J.M. Barrie"  The reverse side will be printed with the names of all Flurry backers.

Who We Are

Flurry is made by Boxcar Press. We have been letterpress printers since 1998, and produce letterpress supplies to the trade. We have 30,000 square feet of production space in Syracuse, New York. All Flurry Cotton orders ship from Syracuse.

Boxcar Press's mission statement, drafted more than ten years ago, is: "Print beautifully; use the best materials; and support and inspire the letterpress community." Flurry Cotton accomplishes all three parts of this mission. While supporting beautiful printing, we hope that Flurry Cotton also allows printers to become more profitable and to reach new markets.
