Dogs Are Better Than People Film Productions
Our upcoming film, "Adventure: Alaska," will show and teach kids about the popular places in Alaska and highlight the wildlife, nature, culture and adventure the state provides while showing the needs that Alaska has due to climate change. We as a team have realized how much kids really miss out by never being outside anymore, and how our world is disintegrating before kids even realize how beautiful it is. Our goal is to change kids' perspectives on what the world is going to look like in the future by showing them how they can help keep our world from dying now, we also want to show kids that they can be heroes too by showing them projects on our video blog that can help the environment.
Meet Our Cast & Crew
Hanna- Photographer Lucas- Marketer
Miranda- Director, Documentary Host
Tanner- Technical Director, Documentary Host
Tegan- Artist/Storyboarder Trevor- Editor
In Summer of 2016, Miranda and Tanner will spend three months in Alaska filming all of their adventures while recording the facts about animal habitats and how we can help protect them and learn more about them, plus all the cool things that kids can enjoy outdoors. We hope that you will contribute to this cause in an effort to not only show kids and adults alike the greatness of the vast and amazing world beyond, but to pass on our passion to you and to them as well.
Join Us On Our Adventure
All contributions will go toward camping gear and weather gear (living in Texas doesn't really require any cold gear) in addition to gas, food, safety supplies, additional film gear, tours/adventures, kayak and ATV rentals, lodging and campsites, in addition to a vehicle built for trails and road-tripping while still being as safe as we can. Our team will be working hard to meet this goal and we greatly appreciate your interest in this project and welcome you to our supporting family!
So you might ask what you get for your contribution other than the knowledge that you are promoting a love of the outdoors in our current and future generations. We have a few perks to offer: our film production decal for your car (or really anything you'd like to stick it to), t-shirts with our company logo or our film title on them, donations to the Alaska Conservation Foundation, and an opportunity to be on location with us!
All donations are greatly appreciated and we thank everyone who has ever donated to Indiegogo, which provides people with amazing opportunities to reach their goals with your help. Thank you again for any support!
Independent film-making is becoming more and more popular, but filming documentaries, whether independent or not, is still not quite as popular to watch as we wish it was. We hope to help the world discover how great watching documentaries is and how much you can learn from them. Your contribution can help make this impact!
Risks & Challenges
No matter what this documentary is happening! In every leap of faith there is a risk of failure. If we don't raise up all of the money by summer 2016 then we will use the money to go up to Alaska and do more research then go in summer 2017.
My (Director) theory is that you only truly fail if you don't keep trying; the rest are just obstacles along the way. Yes, this endeavor is a leap of faith without the backing of a motion picture company but it is not impossible! I was raised by parents who believe in and fight for causes and do not back down in the face of challenges. My dad grew up in Alaska for a lot of his childhood and that was the beginning of my inspiration. My dad was a Marine, who fought in Desert Storm, turned police officer, 20 years and counting. My mom was a police officer turned counselor (yes, they met in the Police Academy and have been married ever since). So, I am stubborn, I do not quit even when my path gets tough, and I always hold true to my beliefs...because of my parents and others who helped me become who I am today. I am counting on these characteristics to overcome hurdles that gets in my way, from gear malfunction to weather to sheer mistakes!
