WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE'RE DOING
Do you remember what it was like to support a band? To own their albums, wear their merch, pin their posters to your wall? That's what we're doing here--we're offering you the chance not to just listen to a song through your earbuds but back indie music, champion local creators, and make Alpha Jerk a part of who you are.
Hi. We're Alpha Jerk. We've been playing music in and around Fredericksburg, VA for over 20 years. We play balls-out rock music. Even Missy, and she doesn't even have balls. We kick names and take ass. When people come to our shows, their earplugs need earplugs.
We're putting out a new EP called XI XI. Our first recording in fourteen years. FOURTEEN YEARS.
And we want to celebrate by releasing it on as many platforms as possible.
Digital is cool and all, but you don't get something real to hold onto, to collect, to show off.
So we're pressing vinyl & printing posters.

What We Need & What You Get
The recording is done! But we need $1,500 to pull this off.
Of course, we're putting the EP out digitally. We'd be stupid not to. But we're also putting out:
- a vinyl 7" of two of our newest most rockin' songs: "Gangway! It's a Segway!"-- Larry's screed about the evils of single axel, dual motor transportation, and "Something on the Outside"-- a straight-up rocker about space and aliens and aliens in space.
- an original XI XI poster signed by the band.
That's where the money will go—toward pressing vinyl, printing posters, sending it all out, and putting on a kick-ass live show that, if you're our age, you can tell your grandchildren about the very next day because WE'RE OLD ENOUGH TO HAVE GRANDCHILDREN NOW.

Stretch Goals
STRETCH GOAL 1
The live recording.
Once we hit our $1,500 mark, we will release the first stretch goal: a live recording of the XI XI release show. This adds approximately $500 to our overall goal.
STRETCH GOAL 2
The live video.
Once we hit the $2,000 mark, we will release our second stretch goal: a fully produced, live video recording of Alpha Jerk's set during the EP release party, produced by Lodus Dog 9, Rotech Productions, and Silverhammer Studios. This adds approximately $1,500 to our overall goal.

Risks & Challenges
The biggest challenge we have to face is producing the vinyl, but all that takes is completing this campaign, which is the risk, too!
Other than that, we have to fulfill the pledges, which is a lot of leg work. Placing the orders, tracking their progress, and distributing everything.
But this isn't our first rodeo! Between the four of us, we've put out over a dozen albums--two from Alpha Jerk alone, but also albums by The Sore Losers, Clark's Ditch, BEEF JERKY, Trucker Troy and the Convoy, Jimmy and the Squids, Colonial Seafood, and James Nrml.
When it comes to crowdfunding, James (the drummer) has already run two successful crowdfunding campaigns before. One for his short film, Lilith, and another for his book The Encyclopædia Bizarre.
Other Ways You Can Help
Even if you don't want to contribute, you can help us spread the word. Share, share, share. Tell your friends, your family, your coworkers—anybody who you think likes the kind of music we play.
