Summary
With more than 22 years of combined experience in the entertainment industry, the directors and producers of this project bring a unique eye and vision to an old favorite. We are passionate about film and aim to produce nothing less than Hollywood, theater quality level projects. Our passion are horror, suspense, and psychological thrillers. Because we love the genres so much, we won’t stop until we can produce projects that are mistaken for high-budget, Hollywood films.
We can achieve our objective with your help, through your contributions. It all starts with our cast (talent). The range in the talent of our cast is what will make this project a success. The crew is a close-close second. Without an experienced director of photography, director, and editor, we don’t have a project of which you are proud to say you supported.
You get what you pay for, right? Help us achieve our objective by helping us pay for the level of talent you deserve to see in this short. Help us honor the genre and produce a Hollywood quality short that will make the hairs on your arms stand on end.
What We Need & What You Get
We are asking for only enough funding to pay our cast and to feed the cast and crew for our 3-day shoot. We are investing in quality incentives to match the value of your contribution level. We want to be certain you know how grateful we are for your support. Check out our perks for your gift options.
In the unlikely event we do not meet our goal, 100% of the funds will go to pay our cast, no matter how small the paycheck. We want them to know how much we appreciate them and their talent, and we want you to know how much we appreciate your support. None of the crew will take any pay on this project, UNLESS we exceed our goal. None of the “above line” crew will take pay UNTIL the entire cast & crew are paid!
Challenges
Our greatest challenge in getting this short produced is bringing on highly talented cast members. We are fortunate to know some very talented actors who want to come on board. They might be willing to do this one short for us for no pay but we want to keep them on board for future projects. The only way we can guarantee they will continue to work with us is to pay them for their service.
Everyone, in any industry, expects to be paid for a service they provide. Actors and crew in the film industry are no exception to that expectation. The adage “you get what you pay for” is nearly always true. Some are willing to work for free or deferred pay for a project about which they are passionate and to help friends start a new company. Asking anyone to work for free or deferred more than once is taking advantage and that is NOT how we want to be known.
While we have asked the talent and crew for this project to donate their time, we very much want to surprise them with a paycheck to thank them for their time and willingness to help us. YOU can help us do that with your contribution.
