My Story
As a 12x children's author and former civic leader in Lower Merion, I have focused on bringing people together, doing whatever I can to foster connections between others and empower them to understand each other. This is almost never easy work, but the more that I do it and the more I commit myself to it, the more that it seems to repay me. It is always fulfilling to see that I have made a difference in a person’s life, especially a young person.
Toward that end, I have spent some time and energy on restarting a project that I first jotted down notes for a few years ago. Watching everything that has gone on recently, I feel that the time for this is right: I am writing a children’s book that will examine and discuss police and community relations, covering a tough topic in a way that is lighthearted, fun, and clear. I want this book to become a go-to resource for organizations and police departments striving to work toward positive change.
Featuring one of my characters, Aron Goes to the Police Academy will draw heavily on the real-world work that I have done to bridge gaps between cops and the community, all while embracing the spirit of giving that I celebrate through my story time, book drive, and food drive initiatives.

What I Need & What You Get
My goal today is to raise $10,000 to cover the costs associated with publishing the book and begin bringing it to bookshelves and Police Departments all across the country. These funds will pay for illustrations (in conjunction with a freelance artist), book formatting, ISBN number registration, proof printing, and curriculum production. Our hope is to also print a pilot run of 1000 books to be distributed to police departments associated with the Race for Peace Organization, a Committee that comprises members of law enforcement, clergy, government and citizens from Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties who are actively working together to strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
To say thanks to everyone who makes a contribution to this campaign, I am offering some limited-edition rewards, including early access to the book.
Make your contribution and help bring this positive, fun book to life now!
Storytelling for Change
As thrilled as I am to tell my story to young people nationwide, I am even more excited to change hearts and minds via the message that I have written into this children’s book. As we have all experienced firsthand, stories can change our views of the world, setting us out on new paths and enabling us to understand others more fully and clearly. That is what this book is about: change for the better.

Other Ways You Can Help
In addition to making a monetary contribution to this campaign, you can show your support for me and my children’s book by sharing a link to the campaign on any social media platforms you use. Now more than ever, we all need to speak up for the sort of connections we want to see between cops and the community, thinking creatively to express ourselves and effect sustained progress.
I appreciate all your support as I get this story out there. Thank you for taking the time to read about what I am doing.
