Who is Ashley

Hello! My name is Ashley Myrick and I am a songwriter/performer in Dallas, TX. I've been writing music since 2005 when I found a banged up piano in my Grandma's garage. Those hot summer days spent melting over that piano which was literally on its last leg are long gone and in the 9 years since then, I have had some incredible opportunities to play reputable shows, venues and festivals around the country which include SXSW, ACL, and the Denver UMS festival as well as in studio performances on KXT 91.7 and 102.1 Local edge show. I was even gifted an opportunity to play shows overseas, which I did last summer and would love to do again. In 2010 I recorded my first album, Devil's Nest, and the experience was unforgettable. Now, I can't wait for everyone to hear what I have up my sleeve and written for this new record. What I Need & What You Get

I'm starting this crowd funding campaign because I'm ready to get back into studio and I need your help. If I am able to reach my goal, I can get started on production immediately and have a finished album in everyone's hands by Christmas (or sooner!). Once I have the record completed, I can then book more shows out of state (or country!) and realize my dream to live on the road and on stage.

In order to make this dream a reality, I am asking for a minimum of $8,500. This accounts for studio time, mixing, mastering, gear, artwork, merchandise, the completion of my first music video, legal fees, the set up of a clearer, easier to navigate website as well as production costs for performance art shows. I want you to get something extra special out of donating, so I've included some gifts for those who pledge. From personalized signed posters and CD's, an acoustic house show in YOUR home for your friends and family, 2 tickets to the release show, a handwritten card of new lyrics or artwork by me, and a personalized break-up/love song just for you and your story, there is plenty of love to go around and I want to be able to give back to those who generously give to this project. 

This is my first time asking via crowd funding for help making a dream come true. Because this is a flexible funding campaign, I will get to keep whatever donations are made towards this project, and while I’m confident and hopeful that I will reach my goal, in the event I don't, I will use the funds I do raise to record as much music as I possibly can to at least get this album in your ears. The closer I get to my goal, the more songs I’ll be able record and share with you. And in the event we raise MORE than my goal of $8,500, I'll be even further flexible to produce videos, better stage shows, and offer more merchandise at future shows and online. Every penny really does count and I appreciate any support you can give.
