San Francisco, May 4 2016
Hello everyone,
We have some really great news to share: AYITI MON AMOUR IS DONE!
We are at the very beginning of our festival circuit. We had our regional Caribbean premiere last week at the Curaçao International Film Festival Rotterdam and just recently had our US premiere at the San Francisco International Film Festival on Saturday April 23rd with another screening on Thursday April 28. The audience response has been amazing thus far. It has truly been an honor for us to share this labor of love with the audiences of our hometown. Our hard work is paying off, but we are not quite done.
WE CAN STILL USE YOUR HELP
We are actively trying to raise an additional 15K for the following:
-
Do some more sound work and remix
- Pay for musical rights
- Make all publicity materials (posters, press kits etc..)
- Hire an outreach coordinator for 3 months
- Festival entry fees
- Travel arrangements for cast members to upcoming festivals
If you have not made a contribution to the project it's not too late. If you would like to make another contribution we would greatly appreciate it and would increase your perks level accordingly. Luckily, we are in the In-Demand phase on this site and can still accept contributions. Every dollar counts and will go directly into taking the film to audiences in the United States but around the world. We thank you for your patience and would like to let you know that your perks are on the way.
Thank you so much for your support.
Warmly,
Guetty and the entire Ayiti Mon Amour(AQ) team

THE STORY
Haiti, 5 years after the quake....In a
small fishing hamlet forgotten by the rest of the world, the sea is gaining
ground and although the memories of the great disaster still lingers, life must
go on…
In Ayiti Mon Amour three stories intertwine,
collide and co-exist. There’s a coming of age story of an awkward teenage boy
(ORPHEE) grieving the lost of his father who one day discovers he has special
electrifying power, but with great power comes "great" responsibility. Ayiti Mon Amour is also a love story of (JAURES) the old fisherman caring for his ailing
wife (ODESSA) who has come down with a disease that only the sea can cure.
Lastly, there’s the beautiful mysterious (AMA) the main character and muse of an
unfinished novel being written by an uninspired writer, she becomes weary and
wrestles and decides to leave the story to live her own life.
