Summary:
Thomas Weller is a Good Sumaritan who would simply like the world to be a better place. He traveled the highways of San Diego, in a Ghostbuster-inspired rescue vehicle, helping those in need of roadside assistance, for no price at all.
According to Steve Hartman, from CBS's "On The Road" segment, Mr. Weller offers those he helps a card reading: 'Assisting you has been my pleasure. Pass on the favor by helping someone in distress that you may encounter.'"
Furthermore, the CBS news site states:
It's the same message Tom first heard 40 years ago after he plowed his car into an Illinois snow bank.
"I probably would have froze there if this fellow hadn't stopped and helped me," Weller recalled.
Since then, Tom has paid the favor forward more than 5,000 times.
Recently, CBS aired another segment telling of Mr. Weller's story. However, this time, there was sad news: Mr. Weller's rescue car had been totaled after he was cut-off on the highway, and he doesn't have the money to repair it. This hinders his efforts.
This charity has been created to raise $10,000 to go toward the costs to repair his rescue vehicle. Let's lend a helping hand to a man who has helped thousands of people.
