Our Story:
Do you remember the good old days when the BALBOA BEACH COMPANY was on Balboa Island? It was before we were born.
Hi. We
are Sami and Jordan Pratt. We have been fortunate to grow up living on the
beach in Newport Beach, California where we each attend Corona del Mar High/Middle School.

Part
of growing up in Newport Beach for most kids, is learning about respect for the ocean and living the “beach” lifestyle. We both attended the NB Junior Life Guard program where ocean respect is taught and practiced. We enjoy beach activities from surfing, boogie boarding, skim boarding, paddling, diving, tubing, or just hanging out at the beach with friends. The beach is our playground and we love it!
Although we are still in High School, we are entrepreneurial by genetics, as are our parents. My Grandfather owned a Pharmacy on Balboa Island in the 1950’s and 1960’s and my Mom, who runs Crush Clothing on Balboa Island, is a direct descendant of Andrew Carnegie. Our Dad was an executive for several large surf apparel companies as well. They will be part of our support system and help to guide us down the path of success. We are also very fortunate to be coached by several founders of the "California Lifestyle" beachwear industry, as well as a world class marketing guru that has decades of business experience.
The original Balboa Beach Company was an iconic store on Balboa Island that closed in 2003. As you will see in our video, we have an exceptional opportunity to open a new, Balboa Beach Company store on beautiful Balboa Island this spring. We are going to bring this store back to everyone that grew up loving the Balboa Beach Company in the 80's and 90's, and re-introduce it to millions of new Newport Beach locals and tourists.
With your help, and the amazing business team behind us, we will also create a world class online web site and sell our fabulous products to loyal consumers from all over the world.

About GetInspired.org
Get Inspired is a non profit organization with the mission to Inspire stewardship for natural world through the discovery of science and the arts. We do this through many programs designed to involve people in hands on activities in nature. "In the end we will conserve only what we love, we will love only what we understand, and we will understand only what we are taught." Baba Dioum
So we help people see beauty and understand our natural world.
Through our Ocean Restoration Projects, students help grow giant kelp, white seabass, and green abalone which are planted in the ocean by trained volunteers to restore our kelp forest ecosystem. More than 10,000 people have been involved in these projects. We are currently launching a huge collaborative project to restore green abalone in Southern California. We are growing 100,000 green abalone in collaboration with three public aquariums and thousands of students in their classrooms. The abalone will be planted on reefs along the coast to save this species from certain extinction.
Through our Science Expeditions programs we take people out into nature to experience ecology and geology through activities such as hiking, rafting, camping, climbing, scuba diving, kayaking, or even hugging whales. Whether it’s in Yosemite, an underwater kelp forest, Baja Mexico, or in our own backyards, nature’s magnificence always surrounds us.
