After independently releasing two EP’s and debut album ‘Taking Chances’, we’ve been focusing on touring as much as we can and reaching out to as many new places and people along the way. We are now in the process of writing and releasing a brand-new full album in part two of our folk-punk journey. These new songs will be telling the tales of Black Water County as you already know them; angsty, beer-loving and unsure of the world but also of how, with each new year that passes, we are all growing up and changing with our music by our side to tell our stories and hopefully some of yours too.
We are a five piece, 20 something group of friends from Bournemouth who came together through our love of music and playing live. We’re a pretty mixed bunch but are generally influenced by the people we meet and the country we live in, whether it be relationships or politics, good or bad, we want to talk about the subjects that involve all of us. Some of us were musically minded since childhood, Brad, Tim and Gav having played in bands since emo haircuts became a thing and Josh having studied Jazz at university, while Shan happily fell into to the world of live music after being asked to join BWC for a song or two in the early days.

We've toured nationally, and more recently, internationally thanks to the success of ‘Taking Chances’ in 2017 and have been lucky enough to be part of some of the world’s best music festivals such as Boomtown Fair, Beautiful Days and Camp Bestival and will always feel at home in a field. We’ve also had some amazing experiences in supporting the likes of Flogging Molly, Less Than Jake, The Rumjacks, The Skints, The Wildhearts, The Dreadnoughts, Ferocious Dog and The Eskies and hope that this next album will enable us to make many more friends along the gigging road.
This campaign will massively help fund the recording, mixing, mastering and production of our second full length album and will be a huge milestone for us in connecting our folk-punk family.

The main we hope to provide is the highest quality music we can offer and as thoughtful content as our little brains can come up with. You get to join us and our community in part two of the journey of Black Water County.
-
ABOUT THE PERKS: We’re super excited to be bringing so many unique, sometimes hilarious and hopefully useful goodies straight to the arms of our supporters. To find out more about a particular perk package click anywhere in the perk description box or photo and it will expand to show all details of that particular package. Some of our favourites include the exclusive opportunity to have us invade your home with our ruckus, handcrafted items from the band members such as original artwork and never before seen merchandise such as vinyl's and calendars! There are even so many ways you can get involved and personal with us including making cover and fancy dress requests as well as joining us in music videos and even in the studio. We are so looking forward to getting to know some of you better at these special intimate events.
-
THE MONEY: We need £5000 help towards the recording, mixing, mastering and production of the album as well as producing new music videos and lines of merchandise to accompany the music. The recording itself costs around £7000, the mastering another £1000 and another £1000 to print the first batch of CDs.
-
ABOUT THE GOAL: If we don't make the £5000 goal it will simply mean that we need to gig our butts off some more (we didn’t think that was possible) and it will take longer to finish the album. But if we raise more than the goal, we'll have the opportunity to make more, higher-quality music videos and merchandise, spend longer in the studio fine-tuning the recordings, go to a more renowned company for mastering and maybe even get a promotions team or PR company to push the project farther. Donations of all amounts are greatly appreciated. You don't need to claim a perk to make a contribution AND you can always contribute a higher amount than the perk level you wish to claim.

The completion of this album will have a huge impact on the career of the band and will be paramount in opening new doors and possibilities for us. The music and content, we believe, is coming just at the perfect time in a society that has maybe lost its support of independent music and whose love for live music need a reignition.
- This is an important age for small independent bands and gig-goers to come together and prove that you don’t have to be in the charts to be enjoyed and despite music venues being shut down all over the country, we all still need to have our fix of jigging at the barrier to a thumping kick drum. By supporting this campaign, coming to gigs or just giving us a listen on Spotify, you’re supporting something bigger than just one small bands album, you’re making sure that it isn’t left for the big boys to decide what we can and can’t listen to.
- Musically, the album involves our own fusion of folk instrumentation, punk energy and catchy pop melodies, with, what we hope to consider, our signature sing along choruses and imaginative chord sequences that we first developed in ‘Taking Chances’.
- This is our most ambitious project and campaign, but from all the support and love we’ve encountered in our five years so far, we feel like we can take on anything with you guys there with us! It will truly mean the world to all of us if you could help us reach our target of £5000, which is only half of what we need for the project, and we promise to give the biggest kick up the butt we can!

There will undoubtably be obstacles along the way of completing the campaign and the project but here’s how we plan on overcoming them, Black Water County style.
- Everything we’ve done so far has been of the DIY ethos and we’ve put many personal commitments to one side while we focus on a specific goal, whether that be an important gig or relentless rehearsal sessions. When we pull together, we’ve got six brains, three university degrees, five years' experience and a hell of a lot of passion and, so far, we think we’ve made a nice big folk-punk size dent in the local scene and beyond.
- We know that YOU guys are the reason we can still do what we love doing and have built up a beautiful, sweaty bond with so many of you already. We hope you’ll come to us with any queries and problems you have and help us keep you moshing, singing and smiling!
- If faced with an un-met target we will take action stations and pour every spare penny from this year's gigs into the project, that means no luxuries on the road, I'm looking at you spoons breakfasts, Travelodge's and Guinness... Can we fit six people in a Honda Jazz... We can try. We would also have to possibly consider shortening the length of the album and launching it later in 2020 but we will MAKE IT HAPPEN!
