We are raising money to have an Inflatible Bounce House at this year's Block Party on Saturday, July 20th. The money raised will cover renting the bounce house with an attendant for 8 hours.
This should be easy if we all pitch in a little bit...
There are hundreds of families on the block...so please make a donation in any amount that works for your family - no donation is too small. We'll meet our goal if we can get:
100 famlies to each donat $5;
50 families to each donate $10;
20 families to each donate $25;
10 families to each donate $50;
5 families to each donate $100.
Why Do We Need An Attendant?
By hiring an attendant the Block Association does not take on any liability risk if anyone gets injured using the bounce house. Also, based on experience at past block parties, it's hard to get volunteers to supervise use of the bounce house: control the number of kids bouncing at one time, enforce time limits so all kids get a chance, etc.
What Happens If We Don't Raise All The Money?
This is an all or nothing effort. If we don't raise all the money, then no one's donation will be collected and we won't have a bounce house at this year's party.
What Happens If We Exceed The Goal?
IF we blow out this number (eg raise double the goal) then we will also hire a face painter. Otherwise, extra money will be used to cover other block party expenses such as the DJ, drinks, food, etc.
Why Is The Deadline July 1st?
We need to file with the Mayor's Office to expand our party permit to include an inflatible. We don't want to risk not having a Bounce House because we didn't allow enough time to deal with this bureaucracy.
