Bloom Network Legal Formation
Bloom Network is raising funds to complete our entity formation and file for our tax exempt status. We have local chapters in 7 countries and growing, which are producing events and media about regenerative culture in their cities. These activities are diverse and inspiring, from local food coalitions, to community arts centers, ecovillages and restorative justice.
In 2018 we'll be producing our first yearly conference in San Francisco, bringing together leaders across different sectors to share the latest developments in regenerative practices. It will be followed by a worldwide solutions day where we saturate the media and our towns with regenerative action and give people agency on the ground. At that conference we will also be doing a hackathon to complete the governance model and technology tools that we will use as a global peer collective to make decisions together.
Because our organization has several complexities, we need a lawyer's support to flesh out our entity formation. These include international business, local chapter agreements, and a global membership model which shares fundraising revenue across the local chapters. We are working with Cameron Holland who is part of the Sustainable Economies Law Center, as well as with the support of Terra Celeste, a Bloom Salt Lake City organizer who is a paralegal.
Your support will prepare us to support the outcomes of the conference and our anticipated growth.
We have begun this process and the estimated total cost is $7000 to complete the following:

History: Bloom began in 2009 as Evolver Network, where local Evolver "Spores" built community for people to connect and skillshare on topics from meditation to permaculture to alternative economic models. It was an outgrowth of the social media site Evolver.net - people talking with each other on the site wanted to meet in person and skillshare with their communities. In 2016 we peacefully separated from Evolver since it had pivoted as a company and no longer supported the local activities and mission of the nonprofit.
We have been fiscally sponsored by Planetwork throughout this time. However, we're ready to manage our own tax exempt activities and are at a point of growth where we'll need to be able to move money quickly across the network.
If you have questions please feel welcome to reach out and ask! You can see a list of what's currently happening in the local Bloom chapters here: http://www.bloomnetwork.org/find-a-bloom.html
We're very excited to be at this point of growth and clarity. Thank you for your support!
