Blue Spring Cave, White County, Tennessee
The 164 page Blue Spring Cave map is a compilation of more than 20 years of survey trips into the cave by hundreds of surveyors, and almost three years of drawing by one cartographer to bring the map to print. The entire map, to include the underwater passages, are rendered at one inch = 50 feet, showing all of the details shown on the original sketches. All of the survey stations and attached notes, where appropriate, are included from the original sketches, making the book an essential component for continuing exploration and survey in the longest cave in Tennessee. The book is in 11 inch x 17 inch format with extra thick satin faced pages, making each page durable and easy to read, The book is bound with an attractive and durable formed wire binding, and features an attractive card stock cover designed by Christina Richards, with photos by Bob Biddix and Clinton Elmore.
How much is my "perk" and what is included?
I'm making it simple: $90.00 USD
The "perk" gets you a single copy of the 164 page book, as displayed at the 2014 NSS Convention in Huntsville, shipped to your door from my house in a cardboard box with some bubblewrap. Any donations above that are greatly appreciated. This price just barely covers the cost of printing, the fee for this funding campaign, credit card fees, and the shipping, it is not a profit making business. Due to the hassles of charging extra for international fees, I will not be shipping outside of the US through this venue. If you wish to purchase a copy and you live outside the Continental US, please email me via the NSS members manual, or this campaign, and we can arrange the extra shipping fees.
What about the digital copy?
At the moment, the digital version will not be distributed in its entirety. For teams conducting exploration and survey within the cave, the data managers may be contacted for selected portions of the digital map for use in expanding the cave.
Can I get my copy at Convention?
Unfortunately, no. Only the proof book was prepared just in time for convention, however, you may make your orders at convention, either through the Indiegogo website, or with me (Jason Richards) in person at convention.
When will I get my copy of the book?
I will be on expedition until the middle of August, but if 50 copies are sold prior to the first of August, I will begin mailing them immediately after my return, about the 15th of August.
